If yah wana go back a bit then I'd nominate Logan's Run but it's pretty dated these days and Silent Running is also a good oldun but BL takes the biscuit.

I was just watching, on DVD, "The Blade Runner" last night and the "love theme," sounds very much like something off a Kenny G album. A SLOW version of "You're too good to be true." However, it is suppose to be an original score and, after 20 years, it is still available on CD. I just may order a copy.

Space Odyssey: 2001/Kubrick/ must rank in the top 3 by sci-fi filmographers.
Some cool little querks in that film, like the computers name, H.A.L. being a one letter shift from I.B.M.

I appreciate that a huge amount of folk enjoy Space Oddity but I found it a bit confusing, probably 'cause I amn't too smart.
But it did coin the phrase, "I can't let you do that Dave", which I think is a great line to use whenever possible in the company of a Dave.

S.O. 2001 was great on drugs when it first came out.
Your in the front row whizzed out of your gourd, and the apes start throwing things, and you say,"Yeah, I feel it man, I feel it."
Next thing you know your hoping when you go home you can find your own monolith in the basement.
