Hard to leave Thailand, hard to wait to go back.

I have a customer here in USA whose wife is Thai.
He is in his 40's, has his own business, doing OK, not great, rent don't own and have old car etc.
She says to the guy, "Carl, you work too hard. Don't work so much, we don't need so much money."
Can't imagine an American woman saying that in their situation. Maybe Bill Gates' wife might say it.
Just saw on TV how Paul McCartney's wife was saying shitty things about Jennifer Lopez because she has a clothing line with animal furs. Farang women always have a bug up their ass about something.
Seems like it would be nice to live in LOS and of course in theory there are many ways to do it.
But like others have said, key point is "no money, no honey".
One guy on this forum has remarked that if you remove buying a lot of inessentials in life you can prioritize on what you really want. Like frequent trips to LOS.
His examples were his fellow workers buying the newest cars and every kind of consumer electronics and then saying they wished they could afford to travel like him.
I sometimes figure things in terms of what could I do in LOS for the same money, then I think twice about spending sometimes.
Wish I knew an easy answer.
Hang in there and plan for your next trip.

RR has the right idea about hanging out in Thai nightclubs (or Thai whatever).
I'm on a business trip to Germany now, and after 8-9 trips to Asia in the past year and a half, including 4 to SE Asia, Europe just doesn't do it for me anymore.
So, the other night I avoided the Brauhaus and dropped into a Thai restaurant. I poked my head in the restaurant and was greeted by a real cutie who sat me down outside for a few beers. "Kap kun krap" really breaks the ice, guys, and we started chatting it up in broken Tainglish. After a few beers I left and said I'd be back tomorrow for dinner.
I showed up the next night, she sat me down in the back corner, asked when I was leaving, and then asked if I wanted to join her for karaoke after work. I said yes. Later, we hopped in a taxi, went to some Thai bar, danced and drank Johnny Walker Black with water until 4:30am. I was definitely the only farang there, and probably the only farang that has been there in months. It was all good fun. In keeping with Thai propriety (she's no bar girl) I left gracefully in a taxi, and I will see her again in a few weeks.
So, that's how to handle the withdrawal, just jump into whatever Thai scene you can dig up and run with it. You just have to take what you can get -- it works.
