Who are better at spotting them women or men?
I was about a month ago in Pattaya on a field day trip with about 40 young girls from BKK and a couple other guys.
We were having breakfast when this young beautiful girl comes to say hellow to her friend who is in the group and used to live in pattaya until recently. She was a real babe. Everyone was amazed and fascinated at her natural looks -girls included. All thought she looked gorgeous and was very feminine. I liked what I saw.
Once we were gone, one of the Thai guys says "I think she is a katoey" - No way says everyone who heard him. We go and asked her friend and she said yes, she is a katoey. During the whole day we all spent asking each other all the time, "do you remember so and so friend's this morning at breakfast? she is a katoey?" I was annoyed, because i thought that someone so genuienly beautiful and feminine had to be a real she. She didn' look at all like the artificial silicone perfect body, square jaw katoeys that seem all to come from out from the same cosmetic surgery operating room.

Shouldn't this thread be in the Misc. Girls section?
It would fit well with that other thread currently active: "Sex with a katoey"
And if in the same section, it may be easier to find one after having read the other.
I would hate thinking that distinguishing katoeys is somethingh that we have to be aware of in the members section. Are any of us katoeys?

I was annoyed that she was such a "genuinely" feminine beauty that she had fooled me 100% into thinking no way she could be a katoey, even after having heard someone raise the doubt. No way!
Annoyed at having been so wrong after having been so convinced otherwise. Damn! for once I had been fooled 100%. I spot katoeys right most of the time. And the times when I may be wrong, well ... at least there was some doubt. Ok everyone makes mistakes, but, here it was just hard to believe. I would have bet money with conviction on she being a real woman.
Everyone was really shocked. Not cuz she was beautiful or had an amazing body... but I guess because she had the right amount of everything as to make her almost perfect woman but without any exagerating trait (as many katoeys go for). Best katoey I have ever seen in terms of passing for a real woman.
EDIT: Yes, I guess it was ego. Annoyed with myself for having been so totally fooled.

On this occasion, you happened to find out that you'd been fooled. How many other times have you been fooled and never realised it?
There's plenty of us who think we're good at spotting katoeys. Perhaps we're just slightly less crap at it than guys who are even worse.

Well, if I do not know I was fooled, I cannot be annoyed.
I guess that is why there is that thing they call "happy fools", and "ignorance is bliss"
I have a friend who 2 years ago came for his first (and so far only) time to Thailand. Walking in Patpong at closing time he wants to get a girl, but feels shy and asks me for help. I ask him who he likes and he points to what to me is a 100% katoey outside King's corner. I go and talk to the "girl" and get her/him to get with us in a taxi. We are driving first to drop him, and I tell him what she is. He laughs and doesn't want to believe me. But i am laughing inside knowing I planted the doubt. Well, he went ahead. Next day I ask him how he felt screwing a man, and he is all sports saying "damn! i do not know if i should believe you ... but if that was a man, damn! he was good!" We laughed. To this day when we talk with each other I remind him of the day he screwed a man and we have a good laugh. He will live with doubts forever. But it doesn't trouble him.

but, remember didn't spent $5,000. it was more like $11,500 and only to get a penis reduction. afterall, it was at your request, cuz your continuous whinning and screaming in pain saying i was ripping you apart each time i penetrated your ass wasnt that pleasant to hear.
