I am good friend of Stephen Leather and I was involved in the publication of his book, Private Dancer.
We are working on a follow up book to be called Killer Dancer. This one is based on a long term Thailand expat resident who knows all the bars, all the scams, all the tricks etc. Speaks Thai and is well known in Nana Plaza etc.
Basically in the book our hero gets a death threat from a nana bar girl - she wants to kill him. But he is not sure which girl or which bar she works in. So he goes to Nana Plaza early one evening with a plan to visit each bar and find the girl and sort out the problem (ie pay her off) before she finished work. But upon entering the Plaza, he realizes that in every bar he knows a girl that he has done something to in the past or had some problem, situation or event with.
So in the book each chapter is set in a different bar. Our hero goes in, orders a drink, and then we have a flashback to the "event" that he had with the girl. And so the book will go on to describe the story/event etc with this girl and what happened between them. At the end of the flashback we are back in the bar with our hero and the reader finds out that the girls no longer works there or forgives him etc. It was not that girl who wants to kill him.
So off he goes to the next bar. And again we have a flashback to a story/event with a bar girl with the same result. And so on and so on into each bar in nana.
So what we are looking for is about 25 stories or events (one for each bar) that happened between a bar girl and a customer. We are asking if guys would like to submit their real life stores of them with bar girls to us. Then we will select the best true story to be included as a flash back in the book.
We will soon set up a web site and email address for guys to submit their stories. Of course the story does not have to have happened with a nana bar girl nor in Bangkok. It could have happened to any guy in any bar with any girl (eg in Pattaya etc). It could also have been with a ladyboy. All we want is the story that happened. Then Steve can use the story and he will re-write it in his style but keep the basic facts as it really happened. We will of course change the girls name and details so she can not be located. The person making the submission can stay anonymous or use his real name or fake name or forum name. It’s up to him.
For every story that we use in the book we will pay a fee (not much, maybe $200 or so) and invite them to a big launch party (in a top nana gogo bar) for the book.
We think the book will be a big hit as Steve is a great writer and a lot of people liked Private Dancer. The fact that it will include so many real stories will make it that much better than anything we could make up. As they say, truth is often stranger than fiction!
We will start soon to promote this idea in the Thai based web sites (eg stickman etc) and also the forums. I would like to ask the members of Bkktonite forum for their help. I believe there are a lot of guys here with some great stories that would be fantastic for the book.

Dr Love - The guy is fictitious but based on several different people that we have come across. We want to make him a bit sleazy too!
You must have heard/seen a few good stories over the years!
Mick - I guess you can make it up as we have no way of checking facts. If its a good story then sure we will use it!
