Hi,
This is just something that I was thinking about. Possibly because I have never meet a fellow member of this forum in person. But maybe you have. And what I was wondering is that you read the forum and in your mind kind of slowly form an opinion of what your fellow brethren are like. And then when/if you meet the person, do they match their on-line personalities.
This is sort of just a general question, so no names needed to be mentioned, but from your experience are the people that you met personalities the same on-line as off? And in a bit of self reflection, is your personality the same on-line as in real life?
I shall start, and as mentioned above, I have never met a fellow poster so I don't know. And in self reflection, I think what I post is sort of the way I am. I don't post much so I guess I am sort of quieter, and when I do post its either obnoxious, or something that required deep thought, so I think that is me. But then in my posts maybe I will use a word like 'f***', where during the course of conversation, I never swear.
So how about you? Don't be shy!

Years ago when I first found this Site I would just read the field reports and some members would give me the Shits!
I thought why do these people shit me why should I care?
So I went to a Round Table the Next Time I was in Town, I just turned up as it was back than a monthly meeting, I thought this LY guy was just a bullshitter with all the posts he was making about his sex life. I was wrong there he's the real deal Roots every day like it's the last ! and he's OK in Person not like I thought he'd be, though he can talk under water with rocks in his mouth (thai and english)
Then there was dot com well he was as I thought Very Different! Did I say Different.
MN now this guy really came across as a total Prick!
But to my surprise he was a Funny guy that just was a Major Joker.
Smegs I though he was a smart arse too in person a Really Smart man! and FUNNY with great taste in Music.
Over the years I went out of my way to meet as many member that were around, now to many to mention But I have only meet one to this day I won't piss on if he was on Fire.
So Mate do a RT and meet the Members there a good bunch of guys that know where to go etc etc
BK goes out of his way to show All members a Good time that's if you like leso shows and hanging out where all the HOt TG are

Only little bit I can add is not having met in you in person Bob the travel documentry you sent me was not the person I envisioned you to be, the but personality your describing does seem to fit your physical appearance
I've met one other member whose was the most obnoxious prick I've every met in my life, which based on his posts was a total surprise
I think I will prefer to stick with a policy of not meeting anybody else in person in case a friendly on-line personality turns out to be otherwise
Althogh I think I'm fairly sociable here I don't much care about hanging with guys, Thai girls are the only company I'm completely comfortable with

I have met many members over the years. I can truthfully say I have never met one I wouldn't meet again.
The biggest surprise over these years has been Dirty Guru. We all know how he can be on the forum, but in person he is a really nice, laid back sort of chap. I would happily meet him again.
Many guys I avoid when they are drinking heavily as their personalities tend to change. Select the times you meet them and they are fine to sit down and talk with.
There are a few I have no desire to meet but that's another story for another thread.

It's been awhile, but I've met quite a few of the active members in the times I've been in town. BK, DG, DOC, RTB, CG, and a bunch more. All pretty decent guys. Most fit right in with the image I had from their posts.

and actually, I have wondered to myself if you were really as religious as your tagline would suggest or if that was a joke...either way, none of my business "to each their own!"
I have met probably 12 or so guys in person and carry on communication with a few others...swapping jokes/pics via email etc..
I pretty much party with RTB every trip and have had a nice night out on the town with BK....it was easier to do back when RT's were monthly....
being a married guy here, some of us have a big thing in common and mrs atl has spoken with a few other wives, mrs emerald & mrs minder being the most recent, which reminds me that I need to give minder a call that aussie has been MIA the past several months....
I would concur that most seem to live up to the persona I expected from reading their posts......
there are a few guys that I would love to grab a few beers with.... Thailife, Thaidup, Buttman, EPC come to mind...and Tezza & Smegs it sucks that our schedules didnt mesh back in Feb
Tell you guys what, if mrs atl hits the lottery jackpot I will throw a kick ass "ALL" inclusive party for us in Bangkok..just get there

Yes, good thread! Off the top of my head here a few of the guys I've met.
BK once or twice a trip always, EPC, CG, RTB, SeaJohn, ibfarang, oms, jingjo (damn nice guy and a favorite), Dr. Love, DaffyDuck, Smegma (my first RT), DG, Compexec, farganbha, snowbird and a few more I have forgotten.
EPC...who was the chap I met up North with the bar. I'm having an "I'm old" day moment.
bartus79 is the forum member who gave me the "welcome to LOS tour" and took me for my first oily. It would be nice if he were still around!
Have talked to bimmher, caleden and a few others whom I would like to meet and will one day!
This really is a kind of family although a bit disfunctional at times.

I have met Oldspice47, cmore, Thin White Duke, Prabal, MickTheKick, BIG BEEFA, TJ, Tyler Durdin, sai tai, atl, Dr Love, DD, Smegma, CG, rtb, NM, epc, mm3, manualBKK, The machine, BK, juniper, oz, yurune, phantom V, ronnie raygun, asian man, nyc boy, ibf, LY, farangba, jingjo, TU, glowman, calzoid, Jack attack, broken leg, buai, caronte, China Sailor, sandontoes, brocher, erikE, kevin29, singlo, TwinkleToes, ponyboy, wowser, army and many more that I can not recall at the moment. Most have been great guys in person. And some have made experiences available to me that I would have other wise never had been exposed to. Thru this fantastic Internet site called btf I have gained knowledge, experience, most of all met an international group of guys that share the same ideals the "perfect shag". And also have met many more non-members thru these connections that have led to some crazy nites! Cheers all! And thanks BK for making this site available to us all.
All so looking forward to meeting more such as LS.

Same for me! I met quite a lot of brethren in person and found out that most of them were just great guys or at least ok to hang out with...
Like others aready mentioned: funny thing is that even the most unbearable characters in the forum are nice guys if you meet them in person...
That tells something about such forums, doesn't it...
