6000 Baht is 147 bucks or so a month Thats pretty expensive I bet the bus although it takes a little longer would save you least 120 bucks a month. Not that I know anything but I guessing it would. Be really cool if you could just go to the airport every month pay your 500 baht exit fee and renew it there for another 30 days simple as that but i know theres a catch

Best way - get double entry tourist 60 day visa (30 Euro)
This allows you to 60 days in (plus 30 days extended fpor 500 baht), then you leave (by trat at camboida border, or mae sai (if they reopen the burmese borders) to langkawi for a w/e, or whatever.
Then bback in for another 60 days, plus 30 extension -
6 months

2 - Go to Penang, apply for a double entry tourist visa
(180 days, including crossing the border one time in Cambodia and extensions at Suan Phlu, Bkk)

... my solution;
- I was in Thailand for 45 days on a 30 days visa, and payed a 3000 THB fine in the airport. I thought that is was a 3 hour trip or so from phuket to the border and back, so I planed to renew my visa down there. But boy was I wrong about the time!!
- So I recomment getting it done from back home, because one can never know how lazy one might be when entering the land of eden. As in my case, it might not be more expensive getting it in order from back home!

RT to Singapore now is offered at Baht 4,500 in both TG and SQ.
It all takes 6 hours and you get frequent fliers miles, a meal in each segment and some drinks -those who are very stingy should factor the value of money saved in food and drinks -ok airplane food is bad, but when penny pinching, one can not be so picky.
