FOD: Foreign Object Damage (not debris.)
eg. FOD killed the Concorde.
Rotation go around? Just "go around."
There is a TOGA setting (Take Off/ Go Around) for most commercial aircraft though.
Do not confuse this with RTA (Rejected Take Off) which would always happen before rotation (lift off.)
Do we want to get into V1, VR, and V2? 
IMHO, I would be more worried about shoddy maintenance on second tier airlines rather than pilot skill.
As for the Stews, I am partial to Malaysian.

just checked and don is right on...$920 from lax to bkk..
atlanta and new york are both right at $1200......
first time since moving back to the east coast it has bitten me in the ass

I would argue you save more than $200 a year by living on the East Coast to more than compensate for the higher airfare to BKK from ATL or JFK. Probably just in gas savings alone. How much were you paying for a gallon of gas in L.A.? A gallon of milk? Rent?

I miss 75-85 degrees 365 days a year...but I love to have seasons much more..and mrs atl is adapting to her first winter (in the south its not too bad) very well and liking it much more than lala land..all in all its great too be back...
