OK Gang!!
Follow me on this one!!! After a 2 year drought from LOS I am finally making a return visit in March. I am trying to plan a little RNR time (if you know what I mean) in BKK before I meet up with the rest of my clan in BKK (at the airport). Here's where it gets tricky...
I am planning on arriving on EVA Airways which lands at 1:30am on any given date. Well, the day I arrive I will bolt over to Sukumvit for some RNR!!! But here's the deal. I will tell the clan I will arrive in China Air at 11:30pm that same day!! The stamp in the passpost will show the same date as if I arrived at 1am or 11:30pm the same day!! (I know...you guys are thinking...oh brother!!)
NOW...here my plan and where I need your help.
By comparison....at Don Muang airport my flights arrived at Terminal 2. When I use to clear customs, there was a walkway between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. What I did this in the past, I use to walk at the lower level from Terminal 1 and get to the far side of Terminal 2. Then I would kindly ask the airport attendant if I could walk through (as if I just clear customs) to the other side as if I just got off the plane!!! (yahoo!!...it really works!!)
BUT!! Now its the new airport....Can anyone tell me if this is the same set-up logistically as Don Muang or is it a totally different set-up....I am screwed and have to figure out another excuse??? I know my story was long but I hope you guys can figure out what I mean....

Not being a Gang member, permit me to suggest that......
At the new airport, this intended ruse is open to an endless number of ways of being detected and you will most definitely be found out. The lay-out is far too open for this old trick to work with any hope of success at all.
Other than saying that your flight was diverted to Singapore with a suspected cargo of chewing gum and that you had managed to hitch a ride in a submarine to Pattaya and by sheer determination was able to secure a lift from a disinterested and aged Go Go dancer who happened to be driving her buffalo-drawn cart to visit her grandma who just luckily was a cleaner at Suvarbhumi Airport, to make the arranged rendezvous, I don't know what else would be near believeable.
If you don't want to be met at the airport in future, don't arrange to be met. Say your are on stand-by and will contact them when you know of your date and time of arrival, so that when you crawl back to the airport after a day's dalliance hopefully unobserved, you can safely call them to collect you.
Other than that, there is the safer alternative of the more direct approach.
Send a message to them informing them that although you will be arriving at 1:30 a.m. on that day, you wish to f*** the living daylights out of a few other Thai girls before you eventually enjoy their welcoming reception party back at the airport in the evening at about 11:30 p.m., but for them to expect delays.

Your "clan"? Are they coming in on a flight as well, or are they in BKK already?
At first, I thought you might be meeting someone here but telling them you are coming 22 hours after you really arrive, but in re-reading this, I see you have been away for 2 years and are concerned with what your passport stamp is. Unlikely to be flashing your passport to someone you haven't seen for 2 years. So my guess is that you're just flying in ahead of someone else?
Easy if you are meeting someone there. Just tell them you will be meeting them at the huge AIS booth at the arrivals level. This is the best place to meet anyone anyway, because there are three places to come out of baggage claim at BKK. You can even SMS them about 2 mins before you will be there, then they will be looking straight ahead for you, come up to the side of them and say "I came out over there" and point down the way to the other customs exit.
A better plan might be to tell them you are arriving at 1:30am (24 hours after your real arrival) then just call them at 11:00pm and tell them you got on an earlier flight.
If you're meeting a Thai, she is likely to know you are inclined to f*** a number of local nationals when you have spare time, so you're not really talking about deception, you're talking about hiding your tracks to save face for everyone.
If your clan involves a controlling farang wife, then your plan likely changes.

Thanks a million for your suggestions and input. I'll make my plan of attack based on the fact that there are 3 places to clear customs. The AIS booth is a good place to plan so I'll tell my party to meet me there!

I would go with the last suggestion... tell them you are arriving the next flight after and then call them to say you managed to get a earlier flight..
Used to work for my Thai girlfriends..
Except that after passing through cistoms and heading to the taxi rank.. my mobile went off and said girlfriend says with an inquisitive tone... 'Why you come early you tell me tomorrow, but you airport now'
My response... sweetheart I wanted to surprise you..
She told me that her friend was waiting to meet her boyfriend and noticed me arrive and called my girlfriend.. of course that was when I was naieve.. it was probably my girlfriend seeing of her other boyfriend who spotted me LOL.

F*** Me !! I used to do this all the time - got caught out a few years back and now get caught out nearly every trip !! One year I even altered the stamp in my passport - bad idea. Another year I bought a date stamp, photocopied the date I needed onto a photocopy of the passport page and then colour photocopied the whole page and glued it into my passport !! Again - bad idea.
One time I was just about to meet the wife who was waiting at the airport, when I discovered that my "plane" hadn't even landed yet !! Ended up hiding in a janitors cupboard in case I was spotted !! Great memories.
Better do what I do now, and adopt a like it or lump it attitude - you need me time and that's it.
After years of trouble, my Thai wife finally accepts I need time to myself and our relationship is better for it. If people want to screw around they can do it any country, not just LOS - but I think the TG always feel threatened by younger versions in their own country.

I believe the best place for you (or anyone actually) to meet your clan would be the 3rd floor - there is a 'Meeting Place', although I use Starbucks as it's easy to find and well known. Another location is the nearby S&P (Thai's are always hungry), or Cafe' Nero by Black Canyon.
The reason I believe the 3rd floor is best for you is because it's between the 2nd floor Arrivals and the 4th floor Departures (where your taxi will deposit you after you've been on your shagging fest). It's unlikely, but if one of the clan spies you descending from the 4th floor, just state you were over excited and didn't pay attention and got lost, or you wanted to see what Departures looked like!
Tell them it'll take you an 1 hour to clear immigration and collect your baggage, that'll give you extra time to get from Sukh. If you beat them to the 3rd floor, just sit and order something.
You'll need to be careful of the bogus flight's real arrival time as the flight information boards might reveal a different actual arrival time to your clan than the scheduled one you think it is.
