It's funny how we all assess risk differently. A lot of folks won't get on a plane, yet they'll drive home drunk. Others won't shake hands for fear of germs, yet they'll go down on a bargirl. Some wouldn't gamble in a casino, yet they'll day trade and lose their ass. Others can jump out of a plane, yet won't go in the ocean for fear of sharks. I hate standing in lines, so I'll leave, drive to another store. It'll take twice as long, but I somehow feel better. We human beings are no doubt an odd lot. wj

The human race is, mostly, composed of idiots. Once you realize that, it all falls into place.

Not to deny that, but to digress... One argument is that each of us being a composite microcosm of the species, we are, as you say, mostly idiotic. This sort of falls into place too, if you consider one's personal development. It takes a lot of work and years to make a half way rational thought, even for the most intelligent.
