Hi guys, I've got my flight booked direct from Shanghai to Phuket for the 15th (its a b*tch coz I arrive at 2:40 am but oh well) but my friend who I am meeting in Phuket has only got his flight booked from the states to BKK... he says he's heard that getting a flight in the BKK airport to Phuket won't be a problem... is this true or should he book a flight now?

Flights to Phuket getting very busy.
Tell him to go to the Thai Airways website and you can check availability of all flights on there.
Personally I'd buy in advance.

Right, price the same.
Have to admitt that I am using the flights as a kind of bus. Go to the airport and book the next flight. Even in high season it might result in the waiting for the next flight. In case too busy, just book business class, a little more to pay but almost never full...

I was hoping one of the guys here could help me out with a question...I'm planning on being in Bangkok in Mid January, and wanted to go to Phuket for a couple of days.
My question is, what would the price of a ticket be like in US$ if I were to book a flight to Phuket from Bangkok? Would there even be seat availability in mid-January?
The reason I was thinking of not booking in advance from the US, is because I was hoping to find a a lucky lady to take with me  , while I was in bangkok, to take to the island. Hence, I wanted to wait until I got into Bangkok first.
Any insight would be appreciated.

Look up the Thai airline site,that should help you with costs and flights.
I would not take a girl from Bangkok as there are plenty of them in Patong.
