I see on another forum someone on the Thai airways Friday evening flight out of London Heathrow had a refueling stop in Copenhagen putting back the arrival time at Don Muang by 2 1/2 hours.Anyone else experienced this.He seemed to have the impression that this might become the norm since the big oil fire about 2 or 3 weeks back. Maybe a one off but if this is going to happen might as well look at the indirect flights that stop in india etc. Bazz

Obviously you do not UTSFE or read the news. If you do a little research you would learn that since the Fuel Depot fire in London all airlines leaving Heathrow (with the exception of BA) have to pick up additional fuel elsewere as thier fuel allocations were cut. UTSFE and you will find a thread that discusses this at length and you could have avoided creating a new (and useless) thread...

I had friends arrive from London on last wednesdyas flight and saturdays flight (TG917 both), either side of the story you mention. Both travelled as advertised...they did not stop in Copenhagen, but travelled direct, not stopping, not refuelling in mid air.....as advertised.

Malaysian Airlines to Kl have two direct flights a day. checking their wed site they post the midday as direct and the later flight as direct one stop, now the one stop is making some sense! UKP

Some of the airlines are arriving at LHR with more fuel than normal, meaning that the 30% cut back does not affect them. I am not sure how it affects the flights to and from SE Asai, after all they can't arrive in LHR with so much fuel after a 12/13 hour flight.

Read from another forum, that only Thai LHR - BKK Mon - Thur Night-Time Flights ( TG 917 ) are refuelling at Copenhagen. Daytime, Fri, Sat & Sun Flight's LHR - Bkk are unaffected. For diverted planes there will be an extra 2 hour's on the journey.

Yes I was advised of a 2 hour stop off in Copenhagan for refuelling just now by thai air. My flight is next week and it has completely screwed up my connections and onward plans in Thailand. I had to phone Thai air to check on this as they hadnt phoned me and had no intention of letting me know the change of flight arrangements. Weekend flights are also affected by this.

Power24, Don't worry, This is a quote from another forum : I can confirm that thai TG917 does stop for fuel in copenhagen, adds two hours to flight time. currently they are holding domestic flights for connection. you are met by a Thai Rep on leaving the plane and they escort you through. Unfortunately th reps sign is only in thai so if you cant read thai then you have a slight problem TIT Hope this help's Cheer's
