Can you take zithromax or tetracycline or similar anti-biotics on a more regular basis like once a month while playing hard in Thailand as a prevention to chlamydia? or for clearance of other minor sex infections that we do not know about.
I got flamed on this forum for suggesting that one may want to take an antibiotic upon leaving Thailand (with or without diagnosis), but I would only do that once a year, twice a year max. Once per month is out of the question and could cause serious problems to you and the rest of society.
If I ever were to take antibiotics more often than once a year, I would try to make certain to rotate antibiotics and make sure that I took the correct dosage/regimen for STD's (which is often different than for other infections).

Bad idea as zithromax is a very strong anti-biotic. Also it costs a lot. Taking it or others as a prevention is not a good idea. Also it may not be enough to do the job anyhow so you could just be wasting money and helping to produce a resistant strain of what ever you might have.
Yes Mr Alan got flamed for his comments a long time ago.
Best thing is to see a doc if you have a problem and not take something unless you have a problem.
Some STD's in Thailand are rather specific to Thailand and so you should go to a doc instead of just taking something you buy from a store.
