There's not much out there on google as in some ways the problem might be more specific to our region of P4P over here. If a sex worker who was HIV+ and was on antivirals/ any of the 20+ treatments out there; my question is would that person be able to pass the HIV screening of say a massage parlour -and for arguments sake we'll assume that massage parlour testing is stringent... I know, it's a whole 'nuther can of worms- ? That is, are there treatments out there that reduce the number of HIV antibodies in the blood to the point where one could test negative? Just coffee talk as one might wonder if girls who had no other income source to begin with would do for income -and yes, of course these treatments cost money,- especially for the loads of illegals in the local P4P scene who don't qualify for gov't subsidized meds. It's long been a common assumption among us mongers that they just flock to freelancing. Should we continue to feel fairly safe in say the 'high end' soapy scene?

In P4P in Asia, you must wrap it. Do not use Asian condoms, they break easier. And use lube. No P4P is completely 100% safe, not even Massage Parlors.

No kidding. I know. I've been here for a decade, have likely P4P'ed through a Ferrari -hehe, common ones, not the rare ones- and still am disease free. My question was more related to the scientific/medical side of it.

J, I know. And I have been convering it up. This isn't one of those famous sex guide type threads urging people to go bareback. HIV antibodies don't take 10-20 years to show up. They should be showing up about 3-6 months after exposure. My question is whether anti-HIV antivirals suppress these antibodies enough to where gals could test negative when they were actually positive.

Packtripper Someone using the latest westeren type medicines for long enough mean the virus is pushed back to one part of the body where its quite possible to be so low in the blood that its undectetable under a do -it -self test or random test and only detectable when the proper hiv doctor is looking for it. This is then only a possibility for someone already following a program and diagnosed with the desease. As only those who can pay 40k baht per month or have medical insurance have access to these medicines in Thailand (Bangkokpost this week ) I dont think bar girls or massage parlour girls and especially freelancers come into that category. Doctors are un-agreed if someone using antivirals is still able to infect, some think it unlickely but the possibility is always there of course. This is a P2P forum and im not a doctor so like the guys say wrap up, but I believe someone taking the latest antivirals could show negative under a basic test, basically its too low to be detected by such test and under control thats all,its not gone. How many hookers do you know who have access to such drugs ?, and anyhow if the had they already would be registered positive once.

Q. Can someone test HIV negative on the blood test but nevertheless actually have HIV? (False negative). A. Yes and for a variety of reasons. Q. Should we continue to feel fairly safe in say the "high end" soapy scene? A. "Fairly" safe, I'd say yes if using the normal precautions, "absolutely" safe, I'd say no. One model in a top-end soapy tested HIV positive about 2 years ago, and that's the only case I know of. But I'm sure there may be other cases where they just quietly disappear without people knowing the reason. Screening in the top-end places is pretty good, can't start work without it, blood taken in-house monthly, so (theoretically) no chance of corruption or switching. I haven't heard of any customers saying they've been infected at a high-end soapy. So I'd say fairly safe but still with a risk. Pack knows his way around but I sense he's lamenting the red Ferrari 612 V12 Scaglietti he doesn't have.

Quote: from quack quack on 12:18 pm on July 25, 2007 BTW male circumcision ( that unkind cut) reduces HIV infection risk by 44 - 71 % :
Hmmmm... not convinced. http://www.circumstitions.com/HIV.html There is also a high correlation between drinking alcohol and HIV. Therefore avoid alcohol and you will be safer. Right? BTW, castration is also a very good way to avoid testicular cancer.

Ain't it a shame! Never a doctor around when you need one... Personally, I think it's an intriguing question.
