There's considerably more radiation that has been released than is being admitted to, and with it starting to show up in the food supply in the USA, how much is in the environment in Thailand that no one is talking about?

--------------------------------------------------

The US FDA said the radiation findings from a sample of milk in Washington state were to be expected because of the nuclear crisis in Japan, but that the levels were miniscule. Federal officials assured consumers not to worry.

--------------------------------

Having traveled across the Pacific ocean, and past one mountain range, it is showing up inland in the USA, but they try to brush it off as less than what people are normally exposed to in everyday incidences. The difference though is this is Radioactive Iodine-131 that is showing up, and is not a regular natural occurring form of radiation.

It's also showing up in Europe, and the UK.

It going to be interesting to see if there is a spike in Thyroid desease/cancer in the next 10+ years world wide.

... from a radiologist in the family... the Iodine-131 detected in the US is a product of a partial reactor failure, but not the more feared meltdown... it has a half-life of 8 days... it is gone in 30 days... at the levels it was recorded, not a health risk, truly.

... a meltdown is characterized by loss of the core, where the really 'hot' stuff is... evidence of a meltdown would be a release of plutonium... hangs about a bit longer and is far, far more incidious.

... that's for what my cousin is watching.

There has been plutonium release detected in the soil below the one reactor already. That sparked the lastest worker evacuations.
