Which of the mobile providers uses the '6' prefix as their 'area code' (like AIS' '1' and Orange's '5') ? Anyone know (I have a feeling the good Dr will know) ?

Reason I'm asking, as that will give me a very desirable area code when I list it with the Thailand country code (666).

Yes the initial numbers are not provider specific. they are shared around. My 06 was also AIS.

So if you go to any shop/stall selling mobile numbers you should be offered a selection of numbers from each service provider. Tell them you want an 06 number and they can tell you which providers/promotions they have. Shop around from stall to stall till you get what you want.

Sweet - thanks guys. Yeah, I prefer AIS/1-2-call, so then I'll just go shopping for a new devilish number on my next trip -- woohoo!

Thanks for the info!

Well,
I have both AIS and DTAC number starting from 01. Well last time my Dprompt was 06 but that's not fix, as about three times changing Dprompt number, some have 04 and others. Until I stuck with monthly DTAC number that have 01 number. For AIS ussually their 01 number starting from 01-373 XXXX to 01-869 XXXX last time when I change my phone number from 01-373 to 01-869 I saw many list of new number AIS in their database (saw from their notebook) they offer me all number in 01-869 form.
