But what happened to the mass storage (that's why the Ipods became so popular) ? Wifi available, but at a cost.. only 8 and 16GB are introduced....

That's a good point. I currently have a 30 GB. A bigger screen would be nice, but I'll wait until a model with at least 30 GB comes out. My sister can stand down for now.

I too like the new Ipod touch, but agreed with the good Doc. Imagine that the Doc admitting he is wrong and me agreeing with him on something.
The problem is that the technology has not caught up with the demand, but don't worry the fools in the Flash memory business will be making higher capacity chips for less money.
I wonder if Apple will migrate the design into their hard disk version or just on keep upgrading the Ipod touch with higher capacity flash when it becomes available.
Also note IBF that the Anal yst's must have had their head up their anal as they got all of the above product releases wrong.

I'd prefer you just get yourself one, only to realize the mistake you made once you compare it to an actual iPhone.
Though, the company making and developing the Meizu have done an admirable job in reverse engineering the product, and hoping to saturate the Chinese market with their product before the Apple iPhone launches in Asia.
Do you want to guess how much of a chance they actually stand? Take a look at the iPod Touch (same reference hardware as the iPhone) and take a close look what languages it has been localized to - yep, Chinese (just as all new iPods as well).
Apple is doing a damn good job making it harder for the rip off cloners.

Seen the new iPod nanos today.
Holy cow - what a difference to the prior nanos. If anything, the Steve Jobs announcement undersold how whicked great these are.
Picked up a 4gb (silver) and 8gb (RED) one. The screen is simply incredible. The new user interface is simply 'wow'.
At this point, the Zune development and marketing teams should just be looking for razor blades, and walk away. There's absolutely nothing within those price / performance ratios. Nothing.
Apple's sales will shoot through the rood during the holidays, and they will continue come next year. Feck, I'm picking up another 100 shares on Monday!

Fair enough guys, not much of a put off.
Going to be in HKG later this week and will get a Meizu, seems around 7000 baht for the starter model, 4GB.
Can use with windows software, easier for the GPS, don't need AT&T, battery is easily replaceable etc.
7K baht wouldn't do me for a Friday Night in BKK so it is fine for a trial.
