Down Soi 4 about 200m on the right is the Sin Bar / Rajah Hotel parking lot. Very large and only 20B per hour. Just a bit past Hanrahans. FYI.

Yeah, but the point is, since we don't know if the guy asking for 200 Baht was a hotel employee (and, personally I feel it wouldn't have mattered to the OP), therefore, the issue is not as clearcut.
I think it's not an issue about "if someone wants money, the OP is free to not pay it", but rather the inebriated sense of entitlement that seemed to emanate from the OP, who seemed to feel that he was entitled to park there.

Gentlemen:
If you look back at the Original Poster's post, erik evidently believed "they" were hotel employees...
Apparently represented at some stage by "the guy, some 1.50 high".
His use of "they" in regards to Nana Hotel and the definite article later indicates that he believed they were from the hotel, not simply renegades as mansaturday wonders.
So therefore, besides being chagrined at the high price, there was no normal ethical excuse for a plan "to learn him a lesson. 1 day work," as erik, the guy, at least some 8 miles high when he wrote it, intimates that he wants to do.

This happens in parking lots nearer to buz and din. unconnected people tend to come and occupy the places which makes it difficult for genuine users. Hence a very high parking rate is charged which is waived if the user able to prove he is genuine.
I have seen the same tactic adopted by Supermarkets/Clinics in Dubai.
In one Hypermarket you can park the car free for 1 hr and above one hr you have to produce purchase proof from the hypermarket for getting the waiver of parking fee, which is around 50 Bhat per Hr.
In the same manner parking lot of a clinic gives you a slip which has to be got stamped in the clinic to prove that you are a genuine patient.
Probably the same modus is being adopted by Nana.
