true, but as this is a Vista thread and we've been politely *asked* not to mention the best OS(X) in the market or Mac computers then I advised the OP to stick to XP Pro as is the less troublesome of the two Micro$oft offering.
Obviously if he wanted an unbiased and genuine advice, what better place than here

Sure, XP, before SP3, is probably the safest way to go - or, of course, for those guys claiming to be computer savvy, Linux would be a better choice and checking if the apps they need to run will either run under WINE or under VMWare.
Also, DELL is generally the better bet these days to get XP pre-installed machines, even past the MS deadline, and the quality of their products is generally pretty good (on the higher end models). Not sure about warranty, or any service, of DELLs in Asia, though. Of course, eBay's always a good recourse for those dumb enough to want a GENUINE Windows XP/Pro installation - then again, in Thailand, Panthip is probably the better route to go.

There is a reason for that.
There are plenty of threads to argue Mac vs. Whatever.
Additionally, due to Application restrictions (many business apps have not be certified on Mac and never will be) some of us are locked into Unix, Linux, or Windows.
So dispute your feelings on which is the best (we will not argue that here) I again ask that you please restrict you debates to another thread.
Hell the last thing we need on the BTF is another AAPL thread.

BK, I know I can ignore people but is there a way to ignore the arguments about Microsoft vs. Apple.  I just logged on to see the latest updates on ass-f***ing at Tulip, how to find Russian chicks to bang, or to see if IBFarang broke up any 4am bar fights, and all people want to talk about in the last 25 is how Apple computers are so great or how much they suck.
Seriously, there are tons of other boards for this pissing contest, maybe the tech threads can be kept off the "Last 25". Any merit to the suggestion?

We could selectively tag threads that have no relevance to the focus of this board, and those tagged threads will not show up on Last 25. There could relevant threads in the Tech section, so keeping the entire section out of the Last 25 may not be such a good idea.

Those that want to proselytize about Apple or Microsoft can just bookmark the Tech Section and everything will be there for them.

Actually, nuking the Tech section from the last 25 may work -- technically speaking, what Tech information relating to ass f***ing, banging russian chicks, or breaking up 4am bar fights could possibly be found in the Tech section?
I'll side with CG on this one, that excluding the tech section from the Last 25 would probably be for the best. I generally use 'Latest Posts' to check Latest Posts, so that ought to work well for everyone...
