To judge the quality of this video camera, you probably have to see outdoor video.
This footage looks like it's made with a standard camera of a phone. What's the advantage of buying a camera without the phone functions. Is it better than a phone camera?

BK, if that's the case, then it might some real value, beyond those merely looking for simplicity. I have to admit, my point and shoot digital is also pretty crappy in low light, great in the daylight though.
By the way, are you allowed to film at Caribbean? If not, perhaps size and discretion is another advantage.

Yeah, I agree with Quim and DrL: it is for retards and has reviews that says it is same like what any cel phone would take. I guess I won't be buying it then.
Here are excerpts from some reviews online that convinced me it is a piece of crap:

"improved video quality" i.e., the first generation sucked, and this one is "better", which is nice
"ease of use" and "Mac-friendly"
Ya, I can read between the lines.
As for "low-light performance, unfortunately, the "test" that was done on the youtube link comparing it to a recording by a two-year old fujifilm s7000 digital camera was done in daylight, but he didn't repeat it at night.
I think the quality is worse than the video on my Lumix DMC-FX55. At least in the daylight. Not sure about the night time.
The memory is built in and cannot be expanded or replaced as you go, so you have to download it in order to free up space.
You can record 60 minutes, while most point and shoot cameras are about 20 minutes (but with exchangeable memory cards).
But the bottom line is there are only so many gadgets I am willing to carry. Until they make a phone with PICTURE and VIDEO quality equal to the Lumix, I will be stuck carrying a phone AND the Lumix when I go out. I don't need a third toy filling up my tight pockets.
But if you don't like to talk on the phone or take still photos, or you have big pockets, it sounds like a great idea.
