is that so? I hear that both Optus and Telstra plans are convoluted and expensive. I wonder how is the 3G coverage now outside the main cities. Even in Sydney metro was quite patchy when I was last there. Here's a whinging forum that further cements the notion that phone network carriers screw their customers world over.

The Samsung Instinct advertisements (i.e. TV commercials) are actually quite amusing and entertaining -- they have these 'Instinct vs. iPhone' adverts, and in each of them, not only do they only compare themselves to the 1 year old, no longer being sold model, but in almost each of them, the iPhone comes away looking better. Great adverts from Sprint... for Apple.

Here's the definitive response to the Steve's Jobs' health issue: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/07/26/business/26nocera.html?_r=1&partner=rssuserland&emc=rss&pagewanted=all&oref=slogin Joe Nocera, in a column about his investigation into the state of Steve Jobs’s health: On Thursday afternoon, several hours after I’d gotten my final “Steve’s health is a private matter” — and much to my amazement — Mr. Jobs called me. “This is Steve Jobs,” he began. “You think I’m an arrogant [expletive] who thinks he’s above the law, and I think you’re a slime bucket who gets most of his facts wrong.” After that rather arresting opening, he went on to say that he would give me some details about his recent health problems, but only if I would agree to keep them off the record. Damn, I love Steve Jobs - and that's why. Oh, and for the record, Joe Nocera *IS* a slime bucket, who doesn't honor his word - but then again, Steve Jobs knew that, and that's why he called him

ok, joe necera DID honour his word if you read article because he didnt disclose any of job's health problems (oh, so you mean he has problems now then daffy? hhmmm) see: "I tried to argue him out of it, but he said he wouldn’t talk if I insisted on an on-the-record conversation. So I agreed. Because the conversation was off the record, I cannot disclose what Mr. Jobs told me" so we are still none the wiser apart from the fact that there are recent health problems that jobs doesnt wish to share - surely if he beat his cancer he would be an inspiration to others that cancer is beatable?!! Damn, I love Steve Jobs - and that's why - what do you mean by that daffy - you love him because he was rude and obnoxious to a journalist, or because he was honest, or because he is withholding details about his personal health that will affect his share price? joe nocera writes for the ny times - im sure his facts are correct but perhaps jobs means that nocera doesnt so much get them wrong as get them TOO RIGHT - he doesnt like nocera spilling the beans maybe? telling it like it is. maybe nocera isnt on the apple boat yet, he is not a convert like you and is still free to give his opinion in the press (freedom of speech, right?) and jobs doesnt like people how are not on board and on his side yet?!

well, if you took time to read the article properly, in the last paragraph he said: "Because the conversation was off the record, I cannot disclose what Mr. Jobs told me. Suffice it to say that I didn’t hear anything that contradicted the reporting that John Markoff and I did this week. While his health problems amounted to a good deal more than “a common bug,” they weren’t life-threatening and he doesn’t have a recurrence of cancer. After he hung up the phone, it occurred to me that I had just been handed, by Mr. Jobs himself, the very information he was refusing to share with the shareholders who have entrusted him with their money. You would think he’d want them to know before me. But apparently not." He basically revealed the information relayed to him without actually spelling it out words for words. He then ended the article with a dig at Jobs lacks of honesty to the shareholders. I agree with Daffy's final paragraph. I think Mr Nocera comes out for the worse, Jobs did his job well (pun intended).

so he didnt actually disclose anything then and why did jobs pick him them if he is such an arse i mean it kinda defeats the object of telling anyone, as I said he might as well have gone on larry king and got some good pr however you look at it jobs still comes across as crazy for not just coming out and saying whatever it was he told necera, he knew that necera would drop hints so why choose him doesnt seem to make sense to me, but then again apparantly im only a teacher im amazed you americans arent tougher on this sort of subtefuge. if richard branson did a press conference and looked like skeletor you wouldnt hear the end of it with the british press, plus it would be deemed as public knowledge because he is the ceo of a public company anyway thats for you apple / jobs lovers to worry about, what other secrets is he keeping? does he know max moseley hahaha
