Agree about the I on the iphone....
Tonight I was at Poseidon and an idiot Thai was showing off with the iphone, having all the maids and the mamasan looking at this techie marvel and saying out loud "oh, a phone for 30,000 baht!"
Me I was thinking "Now that's an idiot cuz he paid 30,000 baht for a piece selling now 399USD"...and even more idiot these silly Thai ladies!

Wouldn't you know it - when I had mine on my last trip in July, I must have been the only person in Bangkok to have one at the time -- the frenzied reaction when I showed it off was pretty weird, though not unexpected -- and the most excitement came, invariably, from the girls, who seem much more attuned to tech stuff than the guys over there.
30,000 Baht, eh? Well, probably not able to maintain that price anymore, but can probably still sell a fully unlocked phone for a good 18,000 to 20,000 Baht in two weeks when I pop by.
Then again, by then Apple could have released a newer 3G phone, with more features, for half that price... (keep your eyes open around the 18th of this month)

Spoken like the typical writer/orator who doesn't actually have one... It's really quite funny to read such statements from people who have no idea what they are talking about...
...and yeah, agree with Skip -- considering Jay Leno's penchant for collecting cars, and what he spends on them, he's the wrong person to deliver that statement.
That being said, I feel that someone making the kind of money that Jay Leno make should, by all means, indulge in what makes him hapy - he loves cars, so he collects and drives them. Good for him, he should!
