Gates may be many things, but he's not a dumb man.
in fact is Steve 'the monkey' who's sinking the Titanic and Vista is the iceberg that hit 'em. Steve "the monkey" is the single biggest contributor to the future M$' downfall. I have the impression that BG left the ship on time to leave Steve "the monkey" to fully burden the responsibility and blame.
No doubts he'll stage a dramatic return in a few years time to be hailed as the company's saviour.

he'll return in a few years time, after Steve "the monkey' Ballmer will make hash of the job, overseeing a massive loss of confidence in the markets, reduced shares and an all time low morale in the workforce. I give that clown 5 to 6 years max before he'll be forced out.
Steve "the monkey" Ballmer will do to M$ what Sculley, Spindler, Amelio did to Apple back in the late 80's & 90's.

Well, that's about right - unless, that is, he joins McCain's cabinet, in which case I give the entire country 2-3 years before it thoroughly goes down the crapper.
Would be fun if, after Ballmer finishes Microsoft, Apple would swoop in to 'save' Microsoft with a generous stock purchase, to 'demonstrate faith from the market leader in the beleaguered software company'. Except this time around, Jobs won't settle for non-voting stock

.... you mean Bill Gates announcing a deal with Apple at company conference? Maybe M$ committing to iLife being embedded in their OS? 555 lol same as this 1997 video? See how embarrassed Steve was on stage? He looked liked he was suffering from a mild bout of hives on his arms.

Funny to hear SJ say in that video ".... since we believe in choice... the users can of course change the default should they choose to... " when talking about including IE as default browser. I guess Apple does not believe in choice anymore (think carriers for the iPhone).

Can I suggest to those posting on this thread whose only purpose is to slag off Vista is...You’ve had your say, now f*** Off! You apparently don’t use Vista yet somehow seem to know hell of a lot about it. Why the continual scared lap-dog yapping?
As a Vista user I was hoping this would be a helpful thread for some hints/tips/discussions about the Operating System, yet the Moderator has allowed the Apple Ladyboys to highjack this thread to bitch/moan/thread-f*** as much as they like
