Bored with tired looking HDD casing? Considering upgrading to a new Mac but not wanting to discard the old HDD? Fear not, an intrepid Mac user has merged a Moleskine brand sketchbook with a spare MacBook hard drive. The process involved a lot of cutting and glueing, and an external hard drive case that wouldn’t need a power supply. Meet The Geekster Moleskine

Quote: from Sarge on 7:39 am on April 29, 2007 One likely upgrade is the CPU; Intel's Santa Rosa supports 800 MHz FSB giving Meron mobile chips speeds up to 2.6GHz (X7800) and 2.8GHz (X7900).
Consider Core2Quads are now shipping, and they are up next for a low voltage design.

Steve Jobs to Kick Off Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference 2007 CUPERTINO, California—May 1, 2007—Apple® today announced that Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO, will kick off its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) with a keynote address beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 11, 2007 at San Francisco’s Moscone West. At WWDC, Apple plans to show developers a feature complete version of Mac OS® X Leopard and give them a beta copy to take home for final testing. [Woo-hoo!] Leopard is scheduled to ship in October. The five-day event, scheduled to run from June 11 to June 15, will deliver more than 150 sessions and labs aimed at getting the most out of Leopard. The conference will also include new content to serve a wide range of developers, including Mac OS X Immersion Monday, designed to quickly get developers who are new to the Mac® up to speed; a content and media track that shows developers the best ways to integrate animation, motion graphics, video, rich-media and web-based content into their applications; and dozens of hands-on labs that offer a unique opportunity to work directly with Apple engineers. Other activities at Apple’s WWDC 2007 include....

good heads up, skippy. At long last people we'll get to see Leopard in all its full glory and "secret" new features. I hope Steve won't waste developer's time with iPhone presentation rehash and other kids' toys demos (iTV - iPod - iWhatever...). He gotta give 'em value for money and at 1.6 grand I trust they also get some decent nosh and lodging.

Apple shows yet again to be quick off the mark. on Tuesday (Wednesday for us in OZ) an update for Airport Extreme and QT has been released. The QT fix is for an exploit for Java that first came to light at a security conference two weeks ago. It was part of a competition to win a price of US$10,000 to break into a MacBook Pro. The exploit’s discoverer, Dino Dai Zovi, said in a recent interview that he felt Microsoft’s new Vista operating system was more secure than Mac OS X. 555 lol, I'm not sure what pissed people off more; the fact that he managed the security break or his comments.

For us mere mortals, owning a house is one of the biggest (financial) commitments in life and we work hard to repay the mortgage. Steve Jobs is desperate to get rid of his home. He wants to replace the home with another he’ll be more comfortable in. Read the full story: Jackling House in Palo Alto. It looks nice to me, why does he want to knock it down?

Well, well, well, what's up with that? Something about 'interview' just inflates certain egos WAY too easily. I say, send this fellow to the upcoming Black Hat conference and let the Poles, Joanna Rutkowska and Alex Tereshkin, humble him a wee bit. On his own dime, naturally.

That's worrying stuff (for Windows users, that is), an open seminar to teach wannabe hackers how to: ".... use disassemblers and other tools to crack 64-bit Vista’s kernel and drive protections. Students will also learn “data hooking” malware, antimalware techniques and possibly Northbridge motherboard hacking." Let's hope that Micro$oft will send their men under disguise so that they can learn how to make their own software safer. That conference is a big slap on Steven A. Ballmer's face. Steven B. in full glory...... maybe Steve Jobs can learn from him on how to conduct a presentation (not) 555 lol

Yes, but only so far as you check on the price of admission. Given it's twice the price of the Apple WWDC, I don't think too many script kiddies will be attending.
