Now that Yahoo turned down MSFT, things should get interesting.....
I agree - especially now that Yahoo has set up a higher price, but one that is still within potential reach of MSFT ($40/share) - it would mean that MSFT would have to spend $15-$20 billion more, which would place them in a financially precarious position should the deal go through, and they fail to execute properly.
On the other hand, this could mean that Yahoo is setting it up for them to take the money, and walk away once the check clears, with MSFT probably fireselling any Yahoo property it doesn't need, or can't integrate. The most surreal aspect of it, so far, was Jerry Yang nearly begging Apple to buy them instead... unfortunately, Steve Jobs couldn't care less about Yahoo's fortunes.
Like I said, I'm gonna explore picking up some Google shares out of all this - not that I would consider selling any AAPL to do so, but if I have any cash lying around, buying 10 or 20 GOOG shares might not be such a bad investment.
By the way, a good undervalued stock right now is BAD.DE

I like your choice of words.... 'undermines'.... a Freudian slip I guess.
Actually I was one of the first people in San Diego to own an Apple PC, that is how long ago it was. At that time the only other options were the Atari, the TI, or building a Heathkit model. The choice of Apple was obvious at that time.
But then the Devil himself (Gates) broke the hold of IBM and the 'Attack of the Clones' began. Since then I have found that (as much as it pains me to admit it) the Windows OS is the superior choice for what I use a computer for, business.
But then again I have a life.
You can go back to your silly arguments about phones or apples or whatever y'all have been arguing about  ...

Now I do not support such paranoia but it does bring up an interesting question.... is there an ulterior motive to putting so much effort into limiting your iPhone to one provider network?
Naw, it that were true the Duck would tell us wouldn't he.... but then again he might be working for the NSA also  ...

I find that an interesting justification, juxtaposed to your choice of a computing platform - then again, like so much of what you, I didn't expect it to make sense.

For what it's worth, I generally apply a very simply policy to such stuff -- "Consider the source"
- coming from a rabid conspiracy website
- claiming 'russians' discovered this.
- using the sound byte 'hacker team' just adds more credibility (NOT)
- coming from a blog that seems to only look for downsides
- 16 months old source for this 'discovery'
Plus, considering Apple has generally a history of looking out for it's customers, I'd think it's a nice effort at FUD from CS' side (including the customary "I don't personally believe in this" disclaimer), that can be safely swept away.

As I said Duck, I was researching an author and came across this reference on his web site.
Now you know me Duck, this was an opportunity too good to resist. I knew this would be your reaction before I even posted.
However, the fact that you could not just ignore the post and move on begs the question:
Does there exist an inkling of suspicion in the dark recesses of your mind that Jobs may be betraying you?
Why else would you jump to the defense of Apple for such a ludicrous proposition.
And the chinaman scores two more points for the common people...
