"can't put in my photos w/o losing the ones already in and don't wanna lose the songs in my iphone". And she uses a Mac.

Sounds like she's running her memory at full capacity. Anything else saved in causes some file thing to be bumped out.

Perhaps you could suggest she setup an account and let Flickr host her less recent/less important pictures on the Net. She could then use the iPhone browser to access them when necessary rather than the phone memory itself.

Google confirms huge search traffic from iPhones
Quote:
Google has confirmed it has seen 50 times more searches from the iPhone than from any other mobile handset.

“We thought it was a mistake and made our engineers check the logs again,” Vic Gundotra, head of Google’s mobile operations told the Financial Times at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

The Google executive observed that if other mobile manufacturers begin to implement full web browsing capabilities in their devices then that should drive mobile search to overtake search activity from computers within the next few years - driving the company's success in the mobile ads market.

AT&T recently confirmed that the average revenue it sees from iPhone users is double that of average users because the of top up data packages.

And in the UK O2 recently confirmed the iPhone to be driving "unheard of data traffic" on the mobile network.

Anyone care to speculate how many of them searches are for snatch?

Here is a problem by a TG who owns an iPhone. And this is definitely related to Thailand and iPhone.

"can't put in my photos w/o losing the ones already in and don't wanna lose the songs in my iphone". And she uses a Mac.
Naw, easier solution - she seems unfamiliar with the use of both 'albums' and 'playlists' on the iPhone (and iPod, too) - and setting up iTunes to not synchronize specific Albums and Playlists of favorite content.

Sounds to me like she essentially just plugged her iPhone into iTunes, and keeps hitting the 'synch' button. By default, iPhoto will grab her pictures.

Alternatively, if she is trying to plug it into two separate Macs, only ONE Mac can hold her songs. Otherwise, iTunes suggest overwriting her songs.

Photos and other content can be synched between multiple Macs.

yep, sounds like another user with insufficient IQ to operate a Mac device. Sounds the market share maybe limited on that score.

Expect to see a glut of new iPhones hitting the market, and the price potentially dropping again - that is, until the new features released at the end of this month.

There's a new crack/hack/unlock out, now, which dramatically reduced the time to unlock an iPhone from several hours, down to 2 minutes, 30 seconds -- and it works on ALL iPhones - new, old, etc... It is even able to fix formerly bricked phones.

Along with China Mobile announcing that there are allegedly 400,000 iPhones active on their network, I guess it may become an ever increasing priority for Apple to crack down on those hacks:

http://www.instat.com/infoalert.asp?Volname=Vol.%20%23%20180#item2

It's a cat & mouse game, as Steve Jobs pointed out - seems that the mice are winning...

...on the other hand, the cat's fighting back by courting developers of third-party applications, that used to require a jailbroken phone. At least one such developer has just announced to no longer support jailbroken phones "because of the close relationship with Apple", and implied future applications will be available via iTunes.

Leading us to iTunes, as a software distribution platform.

I'm wondering if Apple's STARBUCKS deal will ultimately also extend to STARBUCKS' in Asia as well?

I guess some guys in Thailand have problems getting their phones to work properly. My guess is that to save money either they buy lower priced imitation phones (are there any?) or they get some second-rate hacks at MBK.

This is part of an email I got from someone complaining about his phone (I do not understand why someone would allow a sim card to be permanently glued to the phone) :

"The mighty iPhone is becoming more of a problem than an efficient piece of machine: again, I have to bring it back to the shop to reset all the settings and once again, all data is lost. It's ringing, getting sms, but I cannot see anything on the display.....note to myself: wait for the official release and don't get it cracked! So it's about a week that the primary number is out of service 90% of the times [Sim has been cut and glued with a ghost Sim to hack the system....so it's a permanent thing and I cannot use it on another phone while the iPhone is f***ed]"

That's a weird hack. Must be that Turbo SIM thingy or something similar. The hack that Daffy sent me was easy enough to follow and it works fine, though I had bricked my phone a few times, my own doing.

Yeah, it's a bitch to reinstall all the stuff, but after a while you get the hang of it.
