So the iphone has been out all of 9 months, is already on the 4th software release and you have to fanny around with ITunes to get a ring tone ? Sounds like a notsosmartphone to me.

There'll be some interesting stuff coming out in 24 hours - which might make localizations of Thai versions of the hacked iPhones much easier - then again, there may be a new roadblock to the unlocking efforts.
We'll see what Apple says, and what Zibri has to say about it

Well I don’t put much behind what anal-ysts say but it appears all of them don’t share the Ducks views on just how ground breaking the announcement is.
Anal-ysts say "Apple iphone no threat to RIM"
I guess one should be a little suspicious of the FP considering it is a Canuck paper – and RIM is a Canuck company.
Now I am sure there are other anal-ysts that are on the other side of the fence as well. Looking at the stock someone shorting either one would have made money yesterday. Hell folks could have made money shorting Palm and the Sony ADR as well.
And is something wrong with Steve's calander on his iphone - yesterday was not Tuesday?

Judging by the reactions of several of my enterprise clients, I think RIM should be worried. Very worried.
I wouldn't exactly predict a mass exodus from Blackberries to iPhones, but come the end of June, I think we'll see some significant shifts in Enterprise deployments of Blackberries... downwards...
What is interesting - once again, Steve Jobs is giving the market and the industry 'notice' of 4 months, until the inevitable (iPhone 2.0 - software) ships, and take everything by storm.
What everyone will most likely completely ignore is that while Steve Jobs gave us 'June' (really, June 30th, early July) as the release of the 2.0 software -- what's a 2.0 software without a 2.0 hardware?
Now we know when the G2 iPhone will land (note, 'G2', not '2G') - and I have a feeling that the 2.0 software will be a bit harder to crack, though eventually they may manage to unlock it (I hope - unless Thailand and Hong Kong are covered markets by then, in which case I won't care much).
