Gotta agree with you there - 'MobileMe' or 'me.com' are not the most elegant identifiers for Apple's 'cloud' service, but I'm sure in the end they will grow on us -- I disliked 'MacBook' and 'Mac Pro' as well, initially :-/
In the end, what matters is how well it works, and it can only work better than dot-Mac... So, in that respect, I'm very much looking forward to Friday

word around online communities is that MobileMe will go live on Wednesday night. Apparently Apple notified.Mac users that the current service will go offline between 6pm and midnight your time on the 9th, with MobileMe going live as soon as possible during this particular timeframe.
Did you get that notification? I didn't

a yet new photos revealing next-g MBP have been doing the round among the excitable mac community. I'm not sure if these are the real deal, but they show some interesting details. The trademark aluminum Apple notebook enclosure appears slightly thinner than the current one. The edges of the casing are also more tapered, similar to the MBA.
there also appear to be a small rectangular recess on the bottom casing, Apple could in theory fit a latch that will release the notebook's battery cover. A user accessible HDD that we all are waiting for.

yeah, I toyed with the idea to upgrade my current set up but decided against as I'll be flexing my cc as soon as the new MBP hit shelves of Apple dealers in BKK (never forget the all too important Eng-Thai keyboard)..... and soon after will be swapping the HDD with the Samsung one.

Who-hoo! Skip finally made the leap G4 to MacBook Pro! Yeah, baby!
Bought the farm: 17" MacBook Pro 2.6GHz/4GBs RAM/200GB HDD/High Res. 1920x1200 screen /32GB iPod Touch
Life is heavenly! Never imagined I'd become so enamored with the Touch as what I have in the last few days. It's truly an extension of the laptop, but in the palm of your hand. Checked out the iTunes Application store this morning and picked up a dozen games, apps. and a couple of books for the Touch. Can't wait for the 2.0 software upgrade coming on the 11th.
