Going on the prices for the PSP and computer equipment in general I'd guess that you'd probably get an xbox 360 cheaper in the UK or US.

Personally I'm holding out for the PS3.

problem is that im unlikely to get an xbox in uk till march, and will have problems getting it chipped aswell. xbox 360 inn thailand would be around same price but would be chipped and loads of games thrown in too. looking forward to th ps3 though, have to wait till my trip in jan 07 for that though.

Well to give you some idea.

The psp fake games only came out about a month ago about 8 months after the machine itself. Wouldnt expect the chipped xbox or the fake games for at least another 6 months.

This country is a ps2 country....

I am not absolutely sure that you need to chip the psp - the games are about Bt300/each.

There is no chip yet in Thailand. I dont think it is available anywhere else either. Sony is the only manufacturer of UMD therefore there is no getting fake UMD neither a market for chipset.

Games are on CD Rom bundle with UMD emulators. price is now down to 200 Bath per game. You need a Memory card (1Gb = 3900 Bath) and depending on where you got your games you can fit 1 to 3 games on 1Gb.

The Singapore launch of the 360 isn't until March 2nd. If they are here at all in Thailand before then, they are going to be extremely overpriced. Also, does anyone know if copied Nintendo DS games are available?

There is no chip for the PSP. If you happen to buy one that can not play the games on the Mem Stick. you need to downgrade the rev. number. countless website show you how to. Though if your not tech-savvy or rather bypass the slow downloads.. head to MBK they can do it for you... takes like 10 minutes

MBK is the best for PSP, cost very little to downgrade and the games are only 200 baht each. (some games can fit on the 512mb as well, but 1gb is on the safe side)

I have never seen, but heard about 1GB mem stick for 3900 baht (even for the sandisk ones)... most are over 4500.

There are no fake DS games as such but you can buy an emulator - like the psp - and transfer games to it. Unsure on prices but you save a lot. Whether it is worth the hassle is a different matter.
