Been receiving SMS messages from Thailand with a UK number as the sender, the thai number of whoever sends the SMS is in the message.
for example my phone gets a SMS and I look at who the sender is and the number is +447798706021 when I read the message the thai number is underlined then I get the message. Is annoying as you cant just hit reply and SMS back, only been happening since Fri.

Yeah I received the same. BUt mine was a message from a german mobile phone but the sender was the same uk number as you posted.
Only received it once on last friday. I got another sms from the same person this morning but this was from their germany mobile number....

Someone is using an online service to send you SMS, it's likely not coming directly from their phone.

CG has it pegged.
I send SMS's to US using http://www.ipipi.com and it looks like it comes from a +44 number too. I get an email copy to confirm it went thru.
You should be able to reply and the sender will get your reply message.
