the Month of Apple Bugs

They come in p1nk! "Go ahead. Make my day."

From:

Month of apple bugs

From:

Spreading security awareness for OS X

Finisterre: I have heard of so many folks touting that misconception that Macs can't get viruses that I thought it was about time to start a dialog with some of the AV (antivirus) companies and express some of my ideas. In the process of confirming my own concerns, this code was created. I am not one for talking about things in concept form - I like to actually implement and prove a concept.

The idea that Macs can't get viruses is simply absurd and I wanted to highlight that fact. It was pure coincidence that Leap.A had already (been created to) set out to prove that the old wives tale is false.

Anyone who uses apple computers might like to follow this for the next month. These guys are going to release a new bug for apple every day.

Cheers

Question:

Is BTF about:
a) Information about living, nightlife and issues related to Thailand
b) Saddam Hussein and the consequences of his execution
c) Mac vs Apple IT issues.

Don't these not-specific Thai issues belong in the Z?

Yes I thought about posting it over there and perhaps it should really go over there. Any mod is welcome to move it there?

However few members read that sections and I thought the info was important enough that members should see it so posted it in the main.

Forgive me for my error but there are many other posts in the tech section that have nothing to do with Thailand?

I scanned the first page of the tech section and found only a very few items which had a general purpose. 80% was Thailand related.

If many people throw garbage on the street, do you join them?

This thread is IMHO not related to Thailand at all and has no general purpose. I don't see 'few members read that sections' as a reason to post it in here.

The news that Ipod outsells Zune by 1 in 20 is also very important news...

As I stated any mod may move the thread. No it is not about Thailand. Yes there are only maybe 20% of the posts in this section that have nothing to do with Thailand (I overstated my last comment, there are not many you are correct).

There are posts from members who use apple computers so thought they might like to follow the site in case it finds any bugs of importance.

I have no interest in debating if I posted it in the wrong section or not. A Mod can move it if they want to!!!!! It is fine with me

I just posted it where I thought it should go so shoot me if I was wrong

Oh really, have iPod sales slowed down by a factor of 100?

The MoAB is the usual stunt to garner publicity for their own site/cause, and less about 'increasing OS X security", as becomes obvious once you realize that these guys refuse to contact and inform the manufacturer before releasing their bugs into the wild. Furthermore, with statements like the one labeling the Leap.A as a 'virus' they also illustrate how little they understand as to what they are doing (Leap.A is a 'trojan', not a 'virus').

Enough of that.

Dr Love,

Under the new agenda in the 'Z' (as espoused by DG and TWD), this type of topic is not allowed as it is too serious and may result in one member flaming another.

Gotta understand Good Doctor, the 'Z' is now the DG forum and anyone not posting like DG is not wanted...
