Dang! Dang! Dang! Did it again! This is the second time I came into town and forgot to bring my cell.  Ah well, all's not lost- at least I managed to remember the sim card.  Okay, so now what?
Figured I might as well make a thread out of it and see what the collective wisdom says are our options in situations such as these.
I'll be in Fortune IT, shopping at my fav. DVD shop, in a couple of hours and will probably ask them to recommend a vendor of second hand cheapies. One that'd buy it back in three weeks time for a modest loss would be swell.
To lend? To rent? Or, to buy? What say yee all. Anyone?

or if you go right across the street...well up and over it...you can rent a cell for 40baht a day off of soi kasemsan...a travel place just past the reno hotel...
I did last trip for mrs atl and I and for 2 weeks cost me like 30bucks for the both of us....I guess you could buy one for a bit more but "tom jai"
the travel agency is on the left as you walk down soi kasemsan...just before it vears left to go to phatumwan house about a footbal field from rama and national stadium bts.....
really nice guy working there speaks flawless english..

edit in...funny story about my phone that I rented there obviously some dude had it before me and had met a bar girl who didnt know he had rented the phone....anyway...I keep getting these texts about "why you lie to me?" "why are you not at the bar tonight?" etc...finally she calls and I must hand the phone to mrs atl to explain the deal to her...the bar girl is so embarrased she invites mrs atl and I down to her bar on soi cowboy....

I think you can buy a new one for 1500 baht for a cheap nokia with charger.....
Then you have a back-up when you lose or drop the other one,
last time the cell shop on the Nana BTS had them
