Not the "Apple Map" guy. Scott Frstall was the architect of everything iOS.
But he won't be missed. He was technically fired already last year. He was abrasive and divisive and the cause of prior departures, and disliked by all their execs.
Good riddance.

No, Scott Forstall won't be missed at Apple. He was at the heart of too many issues and conflicts that were becoming common knowledge. He did great earlier though but probably overreached. BTW, didn't he sell a huge part of his Apple shares a few months ago?
Good call from Tim Cook on firing Browett as well, although he does bear the responsibility of hiring him in the first place. I never really understood what was the point of bringing him to Apple anyway. But then, I don't know anything about retailing.

I was genuinely concerned for Apple's 5 years onwards future if Forstall had stayed on.
Yes, he sold all of his AAPL shares, to the tune of $39 million, 4-5 months ago.
Not sure how Browett got recommended to Cook, seeing as how his slash-and-burn management style was well known at Dixon's, and Dixon did not exactly have a good reputation for it.
When he started slashing employees prior to holiday seasons, he pretty much fired himself.
