The current tenants were offered a three month extension on their leases which were supposed to be up in early January I think. A couple of the bars in the area have found alternative locations nearby on Soi 22. I asked the guy at the front on my last visit to Sazanka what their plans were but he didn't seem to know. I presume they will take the additional 3 months.
I would also not be surprised if, given the state of the world economy and of Thai tourism, that the plans for redevelopping the site are put on hold for a while longer. The last thing Bangkok needs is another huge hotel, shopping centre or office tower.

Good observation. Unrelated to this, I read recently -- and I tend to wholeheartedly agree -- that, given the state of the world economy, die-hard P4P customers are least likely to cut down on P4P. Shopping and travel, by contrast, suffer directly and immediately in a recession. So any attempt to eject P4P joints to make way for other structures would seem ill-advised at this juncture.

I find this place very boring of late. I probably made my last visit during the last trip. Not much in the way or staff or service. The massage is great but the special just is not "special".
