I was going to leave it with my last comment, but I really have to point out that this discussion of barebacking would be best served if some of us came off our high horses and stopped trying to allocate blame, either to girls or to punters. Having been caught once of twice in unexpected and unintended episodes without a condom, much the way cheapcharlie described, I was genuinely interested to explore how other people reacted and took preventative action. I should note that none of this involves blaming the girls whose lack of education and financial need makes them the real victims of the situation. Ghatotkach and one or two others gave some serious attention to this question, which is great.
But why has this debate provoked so much moral outrage about something that we should all know is a risk on the P4P scene anywhere? This high moral tone sits uncomfortably in a forum dealing with said P4P scene anyhow. There are plenty who would say that P4P is an outrage in itself and that we are all wicked for being involved in the scene at all. It makes me wonder if some commentators would just rather sideline this issue by pretending that either it does not exist and there is something wrong with people who so much as mention it - or that all of the people who have ever barebacked are a small minority of wicked intentional disease spreaders, so they can all be legitimately written off. Either way this will enable such claimants of the moral high ground to retreat back into their security blankets and ignore barebacking. The trouble with this strategy of ignoring the problem is that it is a contributory factor in the spread of disease. Personally, I think the responsible thing to do is to honestly address the issue, recognising that barebacking can happen unintentionally (much as cheapcharlie described) and try to find ways to prevent it. I for one am appreciative of the efforts of those members who have attempted to do just that.
Incidentally, HappyJohnny I completely accept your point - what I meant to say is that the more unprotected sex, the more the chance of contracting HIV.
