If you want to save some cab fare, you might take the BTS to Siam Station, then switch to the Silom line and get off at Saladaeng Station. This is not too far from Chinatown. Just walk up to Rama IV (right North of the station) and catch a cab there.

Another option would be to take the sky train (Silom line) to the Saphan Taksin station. From there jump on the express boat to Rajawong pier and it is a very short walk from there. You can avoid the traffic that way.

You can also get off at the National Stadium BTS station and then take the #73 bus to China Town. Just tell the fare collector "Yawarat". I think the bus fare is just 12 baht.

Guys, cab fares in BKK are very cheap -- imagine it's barely 6 baht a km, aircon privacy!

Long time no see. I suggest you better avoid some silly traffic and take the BTS up to SAPHAN TAKSIN (last stop SILOM LINE and close to Robinson and Centre Point). Then you take a cab all the way to Yaowarat through CHAROEN KRUNG. Hope this helps.

Correct, if you're lucky it will take less then 10mins with the taxi from there. I prefer the express boat, nice views and sometimes nice girls too (about 15-20mins to China Town if you don't have to wait for the boat) Travelling from the Nana area to Saphan Taksin with BTS =20 mins.
