I agree with TPE, and suggest you consider being an importer. I wouldn't focus on LOS exclusively. You have to have items from all over Asia if you want to run a successful import business IMO. Variety is the spice of life and often the key to a thriving business as well.

It only took me a couple months to find a job in Thailand after the company I was working for in China went under. I didn't know anyone at the company, and was competing against one of the farangs that worked theres friend. I got the job because I was eager and willing to work and I know that the heck I am doing in my field of work.
That being said, I did not receive what I would be making back in the States. But what I am making definitely is enough for me to live upper middle class, better standard of living than I would have in the States at the wages I would be paid there.
Of course, I can speak Thai resonably well. Not perfect, but good enough to communicate with people and get my job done. Just got done building a brand new house with my new found job and wages.
The jobs are out there, you just have to look for them and be willing to learn the language. That's the key! LEARN TO SPEAK THAI IT WILL HELP YOU GET A JOB IN LOS!

Have to agree with GS - If you want to get hired in the LOS learn to speak the local lingo. Certainly doesn't hurt with the ladies either!
