Must get onto my Lawyers and get some foreign worker 12 month contracts drawn up,, anyone interested ( you must have the necessary expertise, yes I will fax you the info)

RTB is right - it will cme and go. This will give the border police the rigth to stop undesirables (Chinese, Indians, Harold), and anyone else (other mongers who spend a hug amount of cash) will probably be let in.

Therein probably does lie the rub - coming and going SuvahBoomBoom airport, you probably will get caught trying to get too many visa extensions, but once you hit any of the more 'primitive' border postings, $$$ will probably talk louder than before. Regarding the 'reset' time, and frequent flying businessmen with their 'hub' in Bangkok - all they need to do is establish and honor the full duration of a VoA visa -- i.e. you get a 30 day visa, have to leave for Singapore after 12 days, to return after 5 days -- your original visa is still valid, and let to continue in validity for the remaining 13 days, at which point you can request an extension if in country, or will get another 30 days if you leave on the cusp of it expiring. If you leave on day 28, and return 5 days later, you probably get a fresh 30 day visa, and the ballet continues. Then again, for people in that kind of situation, they would probably quickly adjust their visa to amultiple entry, 1-year business visa, or any of the alternate visas available. What everyone seems to have forgotten is that this only applies to VoA visa (Visa on Arrival), but anyone can go to your country's Thai Embassy or Consulate, and receive a pre-applied visa, which is an entirely dfferent animal altogether.)

Quote: from Mel Gibson on 11:41 am on Sep. 10, 2006 Maybe I missed it, but what is the "reset" time,, i.e you stay 30 X 3,, how long until you can do another 30X3 ? If it's only a week or so, may be cost effective to have a short trip to Cambo / Loas.
Mel, here is an excerpt from an article on Forbes.com... -------------------------------------------------------------- From October, tourists from the designated countries can still enter Thailand without visas and stay for up to 30 days, but their entry stamps will be renewable twice at most for a maximum stay of 90 days. Tourists who stayed for 90 days must leave the kingdom for at least 90 days before being permitted to re-enter Thailand, Suwat said. -------------------------------------------------------------- full article. http://www.forbes.com/markets/feeds/afx/2006/09/10/afx3005316.html AFX News Limited Thailand tightens visa rules for tourists to cut illegal workers 09.10.2006, 09:45 AM BANGKOK (AFX) - Thailand will tighten entry regulations for tourists in a bid to crack down on illegal foreign workers, the Immigration Bureau said. The move, which takes effect October 1, would affect tourists from 41 countries including Australia, the UK, Canada, France, Germany, Japan and the US, said Suwat Thamrongsrisakul, the head of the bureau. Currently, tourists from 41 countries can enter Thailand without visas and stay in the kingdom for up to 30 days. They can extend their stay by checking out of the country, mainly by crossing the borders of neighboring Cambodia and Laos, and returning with new entry stamps. 'Under the current rules, people from those countries can stay in Thailand as long as they want. Some even stay here for one year,' another bureau official said. The bureau had learned that a growing number of foreigners from the 41 countries worked illegally in Thailand, Suwat said, adding many were employed in bars and restaurants in the popular seaside resort of Pattaya, east of Bangkok. 'Tourists are taking advantage of the visa exemption law. Instead of sightseeing, they are doing business here,' Suwat said. Essentially, the old visa rule of 'leave for as long as you stay'. Generally, this method will work fine for 99% of all real tourist arrivals, and those conducting real business, or using bkk as a hub, can apply for a separate visa at their embassy.

I was speculating. 'they' was in reference to Thai authorities. Sorry if this was confusing.
