I am on a visa run to Saigon and at the Thai Consulate there was a notice that there is NO FEE for tourist visas to Thailand from 5 March - sometime in June. It didn't appear to only be for VN office.

yes, they have decided this will help tourism
but IMHO I think this is one of the last considerations for person who is deciding to (or not to) come to LOS
are you still able to get one-year non-Imm B visas at HCMC ?

Even double entries in Vientiane are reported to be free during this period.
But I think that if you worry about the regular fee, you shouldn't come to Thailand at all.

LY, sorry I didn't ask as I was in the process of picking up my visa when you posed the question. I also didn't see the sign until I was turning in my visa app to request a multi entry also, as when I was in SG I requested ME and they only gave me SE.
Doc,
My point was it was a pleasant surprise when it cost nothing but my time.
And I don't think $35 is going to be a reason for people coming or not. I would guess it is the effort of someone trying to save face (and possibly their job) by showing there are efforts made by TAT to get tourists back in Thailand.
