Thanks for the information as always, now to try and get this topic back on track. Of course, 80K and upwards is comfortable here. That also seems to be the upper echelon Thai salary range, until you start getting into serious executive positions. Kinda figured that the executives getting 200K just for living arrangements were already making bank anyway, but with the cost of living here, 300-400 USD per year just translates into way serious cash. What about other expats down further on the rung? A friend at Exxon mentioned that expats there will start at about 150K baht per month with all there other expenses taken care of. Is that about average in the market? Or are most able to pull in 200K-400K per month? Just trying to get a feel about actual market prices out in the real world. -VS

Well, I make between 200-400k.... medical insurance paid for by the company, but I pay for my own accomodation. trust me, it is VERY comfortable, and to be honest, I think even if I wanted to I couldn't spend it all. Helps me live well, f*** well and even save some money for my old days

Don't bother making the move here if offered less than 200k/month excluding other perks. Wanna be an expat, be one that gets what one's worth. Or for entrepreneurial ones, start your own biz.

I have posted on my experiences living/working in LOS on the previous page so I wont get into that again.. factor, ...I could go a bit lower and make the move with the wife back for 150K a month........knowing we could live comfortably... however, on that amount retirement savings would be a major concern..... I think the salary for an expat depends on your age and how many working years you still have left...as I stated..for me 150,000K a month is bare minimum... of course if you have a house or other potential income in farangland..then "bobs your uncle" atl

There is a job going in Bkk at my old company.I have just quit this week. Energy company. They will be looking for someone at the 450-500k Bt per month salary range. You will have to pay for your own apartment, though! PM Yurune if you are interested- he still works there. I am sure he can get you an introduction! I have had enough and am moving to the Middle East.

the market for expats here is suffering at the moment and probably won't get any better the companies have long been taking advantage of the fact that expats want to live and work here and the salaries they are offering are staggeringly lower than they were 10 years ago work abroad and spend your time off in LOS like many other are doing it
