im too lazy to do a search and would like up to date info.... i hear most ppl dont do the live in maids nowadays due to privacy, but for novelties sake im going to do it for a few months... i want one, that speaks basic english, or barely any at all, mai pen rais, also, i want her to cook for me, and get groceries, run errands, laundry, all the normal stuff....
what are the rates for this?
where is best to find them? BKK Post classified ad placement?
what are the terms normally dicated? 6 days of work, 1 day off, no friends allowed over, etc?

ask some of the girls you know to get a sister or somebody else from baan nok to come to bangkok. or may be you have a girl you know trading her shitty appartment into a better room plus a small salary!
usually it is actually 7 days a week but I would also go for the 6/1 day concept!

If anyone is interested in this, I have a cute french maids outfit and I cum cheaply.
But really, we have 2 maids/nannies and they both share the duties around. They both live in and one is a little older and one is a little younger. The older one gets 6k per month and 2 days off a month, the younger one gets 2k and no days off. All their expenses are covered by us, ie toiletries etc. we also take them out with us on accasional outings or holidays to the beach etc. The younger one is going to Oz next year with us for about 6 weeks.
So there ya go, if I had a bigger house and when I get into any business here, I am going to have a cook, a gardner and a driver as well, all for under 25k baht a month.
I have the number of a lady that seems to be a good agent, one nanny we got we sacked after the first week, but the second is outstanding. I also found putting up a notice at Villa supermarkets, particularly the Sukhumvit one, works very well.

If you use any service, the going rate for the maid/nanny should be around the 5, 000 mark, anyone charging more is usually taking a monthly kickback as well. If you get out of the farang market you will pay 4-5k. In the farang market 5-10k. Up to you as they say.

Once a maid has been paid over 5k by a farang (say 7k), she would rather work for a Thai for 4k than reduce her farang rate.
If you move into a majority farang populated building, the maids' network passes the voice rather quickly and some will show up knocking on your door. Some may be already working in your building and are looking for a new job as their current employer is about to move out.
