I am in the US and am being recruited for a job at Chulalongkorn University.
What impact will having a DUI (driving under the influence) in the US have on recieving a work permit?

I very much doubt None if any, no one was killed?
Thailand is Not like the US as such, for example if say an Australian like that Lady that got charged in Thailand for stealing a bar mat.
She sold her story to a Mag here in Australia quick 20K whatever.
So she wants to take the kids to Disney Land to see Daffy Duck and Mickey.
Applies for a Visa the US Government says NO Way you have a Criminal record 
I will contact a Friend in Thailand that works for same Uni and ask him to inquire for you, give me a day or so.

I was stopped for having and headlight out, it went downhill from there......
I was thinking it would be more of an issue for the government to issue the WP, not getting the job at Chula.

When me and my company applied, no criminal record check was necessary.
Only a medical certificate was required.

why worry, just don't report it on Thai work visa !.... even thats a joke... I know many that work under gun with modified doc'd sponsers etc
a Uni teaching profession probably more concerned with academic and psychological backgrounds.... do you give out too many F grades etc ? 
do you have USA Passport or do you still have to apply ?
depends on criminal charge severity ! state to state to federal you'll be amazed how things / issues aren't in databases
don't sweat it ! I know work bros that had multiple charges DUI accidents and terms /fined and served and have obtained and still hold a USA passport
drug charges ? may be of concern... divorce and child support another as well with IRS taxes owed !
