The closest I have come to a Chinese girl in BKK is my on my last visit a trip to the J1. The girl there, S16, was very white, and when she spoke she sounded just like she was from China, same accent. I called her on it, and she said that one parent was Chinese, one Thai, and she was from Chaing Rai of course. She spoke Thai like a Thai person and she also had the scar on her shoulder that all thai women seem to have.
I've never looked for Chinese in chinatown but will in the future. I'd like to thank VisitingBKK for his report, for although I am sitting in California right now, everything was coming back reading the report, Thank you!
A couple trips back I went from Macau to Bangkok on Air Asia, and there must have been 30-40 Chinese prostitutes on the flight. They are very easy to spot. I read something that they have to leave Macau every once in a while so that they can return and have their visa renewed.

Seeing the Chinatown thread revived reminded me that I have not been to Yarowat in some time. Last time was in search of the ever elusive "umbrella girl" that would steal my heart (at least for an hour or two).
Yesterday I went back to check things out. As been reported before, the side streets off Yarowat (and around Cleopatra's) are littered with streetwalkers. Most sit on steps to really bad looking S/T hotels that you would not put your worst enemy in. A few hang around on the street. While the ratio was better than the last time I strolled around this area, I still would not touch any of them....even if it were free.
Eventually I rolled up to the street around Texas. Still looks pretty much the same I saw a couple of the umbrella girls that I met months ago. Walked the side streets and back alleys and was quite surprised to see a larger quantity of young T/Gs that were actually pretty reasonable. Frankly, if you're a Beer Garden kinda guy, the girls I saw yesterday were on-par with most.
But I digress
Walked back to the main street and saw a thai guy grabbing one of the umbrella girls...yelling at her and pushing her out to Yarowat. Clearly he was linked to the regular T/Gs and was trying to get any competition off the streets. He proceeded to move off 3 chinese ladies before going back to his hole.
A few moment later you start to see the umbrella girls come around again. First one...then a 2nd... and then, there she was. The third women that came across the street was about 168 cm tall, likely around 50 kgs. I guess she was maybe 30 with a porcelain complexion and a rack to bury your head in.
While not the petite china doll type, she was the best I have seen there. she cautiously moved up the soi looking around to avoid the thai strong-arm forces again. I watched as she made her way up the street, first up one side then coming back on my side. She walked past, smiled and said hello.
She speaks Mandarin and a dialect.. virtually no thai and no english. what the f*** do I care...I am here to engage in stimulating dialogue. She stands next to me, showing me her lovely rack and asks "you like?" Before I could even get an answer out someone starts yelling and little miss china takes off down the street towards her friends. The thai "enforcer"was back again and was noticeable one pised-off mother f***er.
I have know idea what set him off but the Chinese girls were gone and they did not come back while I was there. I am going back tomorrow to see if I can find her again and hope to have a more compelling report after that.

I wrote a couple of posts on the chinese food thread about a teochew restaurant between SriPaya and Samyen, patronised by lots of native teochew. Dunno where they get their girls but plenty of PRC prostitutes in there. Check upstairs if you have a chance. Very low key though, brought a couple of western friends along once and they couldn't stay there.

I've never seen any white boy except myself in that place but that doesn't mean they are unwelcome. The place has a rough edge though, starting with food presentation. But if you're used travelling to Asia, which one of those friends wasn't, it's worth a try. Open almost all night and they don't seem to care about the alcohol bans.
