Gentlemen - It seemed like we were on the right path, let's not get distracted. Also, some background for any of you who are new to the board:
The Eden thread has always been a contentious one. Part of it is human nature, but some factors are specific to the subject. There's bound to be flaming in any thread, whether it's about BKK brothels, morris dancing, Zen poems, or ice-cream making. One poster will call another an idiot, the offended party will respond, "You're a bigger idiot," and off we go. That tendency has been particularly strong in the Eden thread and BK used his admin powers to stop a silly situation from becoming absurd.
I understand full well that for practical purposes, it's best to have only one thread about Eden. Otherwise, there would be dozens of Eden threads all over the board. But this "one-thread-for-all-purposes" also creates a bit of an unnatural situation. The thread serves as a gathering point for Eden enthusiasts and is the channel by which Marc answers questions, makes announcements, etc. At the same time, it's the place to post complaints and negative comments.
Given the circumstances, the pressure for a "thread-f***" is almost always at the critical point and I'm sure the Eden thread requires more of BK's attention than he would like to give it in the best of all possible worlds.
Seems to me the biggest source of trouble comes from the guys who have a personal grudge against Marc. The infamous Thai3 is the prime example, although he has several lesser brothers. (Thai3 is the handle of a guy who, using several names, made up and posted complaints against Eden on several boards for a period of years, then publicly admitted in a "letter of apology" on those same boards that he had lied.)
Next in line are the guys who don't understand or don't like the Eden concept. Their complaint is essentially that Eden isn't like a go-go bar, FL bar, a massage parlor or whatever. I understand where they are coming from, but if they don't like Eden, why not just forget about it (and the Eden thread as well) ?
Silliest of all, you have the guys who write over and over again that there are no attractive ladies at Eden. What they should write is that on the one or two occasions they looked into the Club, they didn't see any ladies they considered attractive. I still don't believe that anyone who's seen a full lineup of all 40 Eden ladies would say that none are attractive. But what does it really matter? Who cares what a guy who knows nothing about Eden Club thinks? I've popped my head into dozens (hundreds?) of P4P establishments in LOS and elsewhere, and probably 90% of time I haven't seen ladies I'd consider attractive. But I wouldn't dream of writing those places don't employ any attractive women, simply because I don't know enough about the staffing at those places to form an intelligent opinion.
Finally, there's the issue of repetition. I'd get equally tired of guys who posted, "I looked into Eden twice and only saw beautiful women," over and over again as I would of the guy who posts ""I looked into Eden twice and only saw ugly women." Post your opinion ONCE, then let it be if you have nothing new to say.
Accounts of all kinds from Eden Club - good, bad or indifferent - are always welcome, but they should be based on actual experiences, not imaginary ones. That's been the problem in the past, blatantly false troll posts or manic repetition of the slimmest of experiences with Eden.
For the future, I hope everyone will be be able to keep their cool a little better, myself included. For the guys who don't like Eden without ever having had a session there, why not just forget about? Enjoy what you enjoy and leave Eden to the rest of us. To the Eden fans - if a troll (or just a garden-variety moron) posts something that's untrue about Eden, see if another poster has answered him. If so, probably no need for further posts. If you're determined to reply, avoid name-calling. I know I don't always do as I say, but I'm trying to improve. Do Not Feed the Troll is still the best advice.
