I really can't think of any prominent buildings nearby.
Perhaps you could take the taxi to Gullivers. Gullivers is a very popular restaurant/bar on Soi 5.
It's a one minute walk from Gullivers back to Sukhumvit. Turn left. Walk 2 minutes to Soi 7/1 (two blocks). Turn left again and you will see Eden Club 50 yards down. From Gullivers to Eden is a five minute walk.

It's my gf who would have the reservations if she knew where I was going! (plus the hotel might find it strange as I always say it is our anniversary in order to get an upgrade).
Seriously my experiences of Thai taxis is not too good so I would ask the hotel to tell the taxi driver where to go. The concierge will then ask why I want to go to soi 7. Still it should be fine if I just say Soi 7...Soi 7 in Sukhumvit near NANA BTS station. Thanks.

so ask for a taxi to mbk or siam square or similar
then get another taxi from there to soi 7 if you are so paranoid to ask your own hotel for a taxi to suk soi 7 or 9 or 11 (bed supperclub)
besides, wtf is it to do with the hotel what u r doing there
just ask for anything, then when u get to near sukhomvit, tell the taxi yourself soi 7
i think the marriott is soi 3?
