Coming from the airport, I suggest you might want to take the Sukhumvit airport bus and ask them to drop you off at Soi 7/1 and walk down the street. It will be cheaper than a cab. I would suggest search the forum on taking the right bus from Bangkok to Pattaya. I can't tell you which one to take, but I took one that stopped all along the router to Pattaya. I am quite sure it was the wrong one.

On arrival, take the escalator up to the departure hall. Call for a cap there (save you 50 B airport tax). Tell him to drive to Sukumvith Soi 7/1 (nana station) without using the expressway (save you another 70 B)
It's about 27 km en willl cost you about 160 B. You don't have to carry your bags and they drop you at the door.
O, the airport bus cost you 100 B so that's cheaper.
