Went to Batam on the weekend.
Easy to get to from Singapore.
About an hour on the ferry from Singapore and the cost was 48 Singapore for a return trip. Visa cost was 10 SD for the two days.
Batam is really third world and a big step down even from Thailand.
The nightlife area is about as big as Washington Square. A handful of bars with a handful of girls and a just a few doables. The girls were quite friendly and what is interesting is that their English and level of conversation far exceeded anything you get in a Thai bar.
Impressive really.
Barfining seemed a bit of a grey area or maybe it was me but when I asked at the bar I got vague responses and not much interest in taking someone out. Most of the girls seemed to be more interested in getting drinks and not even going with customers and the ones that might have been were pretty gross.
If you want take home you are probably better off going to the I Hotel or some other establishment where you pick the girl for the night and pay I think it was 1 million rupiah 130 SD but I wasnt really that interested in an all nigher.
I didnt bother staying the second night even thou I had booked a hotel. Took the ferry back to Singapore.
Verdict. Wouldn't bother going there far better options from Singapore like flying to Thailand especially considering that they are asking 130SD for girls most of whom I wouldn't and couldn't shag.

As I stated previously its been a while since I last visited Nagoya but I remember the best looking Girls worked in the Night Clubs (KTV) which seemed to be open pretty much 24 hours? Are they still there?

Didn't try the KTV lounges probably I should have but the whole place is so run down and msierbably poor that I just didnt feel comfortable there.
