Greetings Gentleman,
Did a search in this section and came up with 43 posts. Read most of them--But still need some more info.
I would like to one day visit Manila.
Can someone there suggest a nice clean hotel.
Is Manila easy to travel around.

Can someone familar with the scene there suggest a nice clean guest friendly hotel near any of the mongering spots?
In Makati: City Garden on Makati Ave. In the higher price class, Shangri La, Mandarin Oriental and Renaissance – all in the same 1km area.

Can anyone recommend a reliable good travel agent in BKK who will set up hotel and flight?
Any will do. Make sure you compare it with rates on the internet though.
Are there any VISA issues going from BKK to Manila and back?
Not for European/US citizen that I know of.
Is Manila easy to travel around at night for mongering?
As with everything in life: if you know your way, yes.
All taxi drivers speak English and, rest assured, WILL try to rip you off. Up to you to haggle, or to take another cab. Speaking Tagalog snaps them back in place.
As a newbie, I would stick to LA café (Malate) and P. Burgos street (Makati).
If you are into clubbing, check out Embassy at the Fort. The eye candy is beyond belief.

Hypershade is correct, if you stick with LA café (Malate) and P. Burgos street (Makati), take a little care you ill be fine. For good FL action try Green Belt, Cafe Havana.
Alsi if your in P.Burgos make sure you go to Jools to see the show (not sexual), very well done and the Girls (in the real show) are stunning if not difficult but not always impossible to Barfine.

Thanks for your response on the forum. I would like to take a short visit to Manila to get a flavor of the mongering there vs. Thailand.
With the right guidance, you will forget about Thailand all together. The PI is how Thailand must have been 30 years ago, before it got pillaged and raped by the Western presence. Also, Filipino’s tend to be less racist/nationalistic then Thais. Which results in more comfortable social dealings. On top of that, they ALL speak English. So no more sign language to obtain the simplest of things.
1. About what price range are the higher priced Makati hotels you listed?
$150+ a night. I think the New World Renaissance would be the best deal. Check their sites for Internet rates. The Shang and the Mandarin are the nicest. The City Garden goes at $60 and is pretty nice. Rooms are small though, but a stone’s throw away from Burgos.
2. I understand that LA Cafe is a FL place BUT what is on P. Burgos? Is it go-go bars?
Yes. A Street full of gogo’s like Soi Comboy. It’s been a long time since I have been there though. Barfining works slightly different then in Thailand – as the girl gets 1/3 of the $50-something barfine. She will still want a tip though. Meeting girls after closing hours or the next day is the common way to solve this predicament. That way all the money is for her as well, and not for the bar and the mamasan. As handing out phone numbers to customers is not allowed is some bars for exactly that reason, slip them your card and they will call you.
3. Is there any reason you do not recommend EDSA complex area?
Not really. There are lots of nice places in Manila, I didn’t mention 
Can you recommend a clean GF hotel near EDSA complex?
To my knowledge all hotels in Manila are GF. I think the Manila Diamond http://www.diamondhotel.com/ is right across from Edsa. I am not sure though.
4. Why do you recommend newbies stick with LA Cafe or P. Burgos?
Because you will have you hands full enough there. Seriously, because those options resemble the closest to what you are used to in Thailand. You could also head over to Quezon avenue in Quezon City and try out the MP’s and karaoke’s there. Classmate and Pegasus in particular are excellent. The girls are breathtaking.
Like I said, Manila is less in your face Westernized then Bangkok. Besides the aforementioned Westernized options, you will need to settle in a bit to get to know the place. Then again, most tourists in Bangkok don’t go beyond NEP and SC either.
5. Overall, is Manila safe for western tourists?
Bah, you can get mugged in Beverly Hills or in Harlem. Depends on your luck. 3 Years in Manila and nothing ever happened to me. I even lived 1 year in the South (Palawan) without any probs.
Something that most certainly will get hurt is your heart. While Thai girls are made for wham-bam-thank-you-ma’am, Filipina’s tend to be harder to say goodbye to.
I would also advise a side trip to dusty Angeles City. Its about 2.5 hours from Manila and has about 100 go-go bars. To get there you can get an aircon bus (350 pesos) or rent a driver for about 1500pesos.

New World hotel is good, right across the street from Greenbelt. It has tight security, all cars are checked and sniffer dogs check your luggage. Your guests will have to sign in at reception b4 going to your room. Some people have complained bitterly about this, but it's a painless procedure, once you know you can't avoid it.
I like Greenbelt, it's first-world. You can pretend you belong to the upper stratum of society, an irresistibly attractive person of wealth. All things are relative, and in the Manila that will probably be somewhere close to the truth.
Check out the Prince of Wales pub in Greenbelt for an early evening meal. The waitresses wear cute tartan mini-skirts...
I've noticed the titty-size has increased in the Burgos street establishments. But not the brain-size. Is that just me?
Tip for the businessman: most bars have no problem adding the barfine to the bill as "food and drink". Handy for expenses. I'd advise against Walt's Cathouse for the same reason. Pretty stupid of them to put that in big typeface on their receipts. Had to swallow my 15k bill, which caused a mild twinge of irritation. Made up for it by picking up a freebie at another Burgos St joint.
