Budget- A *** experience is always fine by me, whenever I stay ***** I invariably come away feeling like it was money wasted. With that in mind, I was hoping that $50-100US /day would suit my taste.
Since this *is* my first visit I'd like to plunk myself down in the midst of a wonderland of shopping, pussy, entertainment and whatnot. Which of the three often named districts would best accomodate that, Hyper?

Just finished some more research and I like the description of area surrounding the Holiday in best- on top of an upscale mall, just across from EDSA, 5 minutes to Mertro line, etc. But...from the maps it sorta looks to be on the outskirts.
Given my budget, price doesn't seem to much of a factor. Is Sofitel there nice? Whatever I book it' goes without saying it's gotta be guest friendly.

EDSA and a first visit to Manila might be a bit of an overpowering combination. I suggest you stay at either the Makati Shangri La (Glorietta 3), the InterContinental (Glorietta 4) or the New World Renaissance (Greenbelt 3).
Being 5 star hotels, they might be a bit higher then $100, but not all that much. But you will be right smack in the middle of Ayala Center (the biggest mall *complex* in the PI), walking distance from the CBD (where those masseuses roam) and the Greenbelt area (with the famous restaurant belt in Greenbelt 3).
If you go at night, you are 5 minutes by taxi from the Edsa Entertainment Complex, 5 minutes from P Burgos and 15 from LA café and Ermita. Quezon Avenue (Pegasus, Classmates) is about 15 minutes away.
If you have the time, visit Angeles as well. Its only 2 hours away and for 2000pesos you have a personal car and driver that will take you there.

I *wish* I had booked elsewhere. Having been at the Intercontinental now [in this reported to be 5 star property] for almost 3 days now I will tell you this, it is not deserving of more than 4.
Why?
1- Two women finish eating & leave their breakfast table next to me this morning. Staff examines their napkins, deems them sufficiently clean, refolds, and places them back on table. Nice!
2- Swimming pool access- is from guest room out via 3rd floor. So what, you say? This just happens to be down three flights of a metal fire exit stairway. How posh!
3- Room Service: Called for an additional bathrobe. Arrival time- 60+minutes. Missing room service menu. Arrival time: 30+ minutes.
Rm. Svc. Food: ordered Singapore style rice noodle with Seafood Bisque. Taste: soup, just like out of a can. Singapore style noodles: weren't rice noodle at all, but pasta and not curried.
4-Noise: amazingly thin walls- Telephone in the room next door was loud enough to wake me. Noise from door, floor and walls is coming right through.
5- Bathroom- so tiny the toilet butts up to and is tucked under the sink a tad. My 6'2" head has all of 2" to clear shower ceiling.
Not! the 5 star experience I was expecting for my $100US price which I had booked through Intercon's own website, but Reception made a point to chide me on for having gotten a frugal rate via Internet booking. WTF!?!
A five star experience? Thanks, but I've had three stars that were better. Or is it just me? It seems my expectations are always higher when I'm ensconced amidst pomp and pretention.

^ Too much hassle, I booked for five nights by Visa card before I got here. Besides, it's not *that* bad- just all manner of underwhelming.
I love Lamb- I'll give that a go...
Ladies- I'm wussing out. First night I was beat from too much late nights in Bangers. Thought I'd go to bed early until that urge hit around midnight. So I outcalled for a massage service classifieds: Ayo Massage.
Kate- typically shy girl- asks me stright off if I wanted the Shaitsu or Swedish. Damned if I hadn't heard that for some time! You mean you can, honey? Alrighty! 
At P750/hr it was bliss. Turns out the company had trained her for three weeks, keeps meticulous track of her time [on their dime] and runs a steble of 8 like her. Halfway into it I was thinking it's a crime noone in BKK has massage staff of this par.
Saddly, she ran out of body though at 1hr 40min. "Extras" didn't seem to be in her vocabulary, either. Shy, coy-as-can-be she sat there waiting for me to get something started. Clock still ticking, I turned her loose at hour three [3:30AM], having finished a good session of cajole-off-the- panties with nothing else to post beyond that. Still, I enjoyed it tremendsouly.
She will be called again- but I will be just as strict and keep it to one blissful hour of massage- she was *that* good with the hands.
Last night- zilch. 
Mid-forties and I'm choosing sleep over pussy. 
Heck, at this rate I might just be banished from the forum, eh?
