Something to note : The computer in the room (adsl hook up to the net) also doubles as the television, with all the stations you want , well almost all.
Have read some very good reports about the Mo-tel on the Angeles2 forums.

Working on my 4th night here in the MOtel. Things going really very well. The only conceivable drawback to this place is the location - in full view of about 5 or 6 bars. So it's hard to be discreet (as I learned the hard way last week).
Oh, well. That said, I have to compliment the management for the online room service and the free breakfast. Not sure if this has been explained, but you're given P180 toward anything you want to eat. It works out that your actual room rate is slightly less han $20 per night, which is an outstanding value for this particular kuripot. This morning, I had a large lasagna (finished only about 2/3 of it). Just make sure you tell them your room number.
My highest compliments go to the maids, who work their asses off every day. They're always smiling and friendly, even when you answer the door in your BVDs (as I just did). I think they were also quite taken with the Holy Bible (Standard Text Edition) I placed prominently on the dresser. Believe it or not, I read it every now and then, not for any inner peace but for the splendid poetry, viz: "And the Pharaoh said unto Joseph, 'Forasmuch as God hath shewed thee all this.'" Something I think about whenever I look at a stage full of pretty girls.
Living here also gave me an opportunity to finally meet Dave, who is a stout-hearted fellow and is always around (when he isn't in Manila). (I'm also working up the nerve to shake hands with Norman tomorrow at lunch. Said some pretty stupid shit to him in the past. Nothing like being here to temper one's mean streak.)
In summary, the MOtel is an excellent alternative (probably the best alternative) to Orchid, if location is your first priority. The Perimeter hotels are much quieter and far more discreet. The choices are many and varied. Unless things go straight to shit for me these next few days, I think I'll be here at the MOtel for the duration.
[One late editorial - the floors in the rooms are tile, and although they're swept every day, they can feel a little gritty under your bare feet. So bring along a pair of house shoes (thongs, flip-flops, whatever the hell you call them).]
