I have been there for over 5 years but the past couple of times service at SOL is getting bad to very bad. Basically since Papa passed away it went down. Nowadays some girls don't even seem to care at all. I was there lately and after I came inside, under some white light an old horse shouted at me: Tam arai? Dum arai? I always learned that that is definitely not the polite way...
Finally I got my sucking shot and the girl was nice. When I asked her about her friend, she replied: Go home already. Sick. Have AIDS... I thought shit.....
But whatever... its sad that such a nice place has become so unfriendly and has such an "I do not care" attitude.... My latest experience (s), after many, is (are) LOUSY PLACE... Any one recommend better?

Same for me Eric, girls in SOL are now rude and do not care about customers...seem only long time customers still get good service so better to avoid this place if you never tried it before, or you might end up nursing your beer alone and being treated like shit by some girls.
Last time I walked in front of SOL, the girls told me to come in, I replied that last time I entered the bar no-one would speak or take care of me and I asked if now any of them was willing to work...no reply...all of this because I ONCE asked if any girl was OK with anal sex and refused to pay barfine + hotel + 2 K for a (likely lame) f*** with an ugly girl...

Wow... I have always received top service at SOL but I have to admit I haven't been there in a long while.
I am sad about SOL going downhill.
Maybe the SOL true Regulars can tell the ladies to go back to the way things were? before a lot of people get put off by the soso service?

That would be difficult for me because I've never noticed a negative change, besides in the management, which isn't as good. On the service side of things, though, it may even have improved for me (though I do wish the Papasan Khun V was still around).
But maybe posting it right here is enough. They are not ignorant of this board.
I went through a phase there much as erik describes, about 5 or 6 years ago. And there are some girls there I like better than others. The ones I eventually concentrate on have inured themselves to my style and they have shown their friends how as well. For me, it just took a break and persistence, and approaching from a different angle.

Gary, a few girls play cashier there. Any of them, OK. But if you are talking about the boss, widow of K.Vichai, who does cashiering more often, you can probably forget it. But you may as well try. I do think it would be good for her.
By the way, with the sad posts above, I dropped in a few days ago to check things out myself. Was recommended by a couple of my old favorites there (Bunny and Fish) to try a new girl with cute eyes and a name like the sound a cat makes. She was great. Great mouth pressure and a very snug poon. I will soon make it a point of banging her at more liberty in a nearby room.

Alas lab work and findings have followed close behind my regular infusions there a few weeks ago. I had two MP jobbies in Chiang Mai which were covered, but the same cannot be said for my frequent stop offs at SoL naturally, obviously and perhaps rather daringly and stupidly.
Yes, I had BBBJ from 5 or 6 girls and an overnight treat from the the girl with whom you pays yer money and T*ks yer choice. Its not worth saying who exactly, there were less I didn't enjoy than I did it with. Rab*t and O* were two of the no goes, as was the 'black widow' cashier lady, LOL.

I agree that the character and make-up of the girls makes the atmosphere and quality of social interaction, although I would think that most guys don't go to the Star of Light for that.
Both polite and rude or brash girls come and go. The quality of the customers on a particular day rubs off on the girls and how they continue to interact with the rest of the day's custom. Not all are superfine and able to brush off the last insult or unfeeling comment.
It may be that I am known that I always feel comfortable and not hassled in this bar.
I don't know.
I only go with the really good ladies whom I know.
Good service, good attitude and consideration.
And I certainly don't go for an alice phallus round-robin work-out. I don't have the energy for 6 or 8 in a short while. I need my drink, my food, my rest and my oxygen mask before I go on.
But I love the place. ( Except for the mamasan - but I will say that she doesn't rip-off the ladies, like some other places do) )
I for one, and few other multitudes will continue to go there.
There's nowhere else that comes near to it.

I don't go with the brash girls anywhere. Gentle readers, you will doubtlessly be surprised to read me admit that I am a very sensitive individual and actually deeply need women to treat me in a particularly sweet and conscientious manner... a kind of special handling... I can only imagine this began in earliest childhood when my diaper was being changed so often.
Consequently, as I mentioned above, all the girls I know at this bar are kind to me. They've learned to be so, are naturally, or tell their friends to be nice to me; newer girls must see that the others know me.
